The first love: This love often happens at a young age. This love looks right, and it almost feels like the stories we've heard about love. Almost.. Eventually, you grow apart. You call it quits over silly things. When you get older, you might look back and think, “That wasn’t love.” The truth is, it was love in a way.. It showed that you know what love is supposed to be, what it’s supposed to look like. - - - The second love, this is the hard one. You give your heart in this one. This love teaches us lessons and makes us stronger. This love has great pain, betrayal, lies, drama, and damage. Trying to make this love work becomes more important than whether it actually should. But this is the one where we grow. This is the one where we realize what we love about, well, love! And what we don’t love about love… Now we know the difference between good and bad people. We become closed, careful, cautious. We know exactly what we want & what we don’t. - - - Then, out of nowhere, our third love… This one comes blindly, with no warning. It creeps up on you, silently. You don’t go out looking for this love, it comes to you. You can put up any wall that you want, it will be broken down. You’ll find yourself caring about this person without even trying. You get lost in their eyes. You see beauty within their imperfections. The love you have for each other comes so easily, it doesn’t even seem possible. You may even find yourself thinking, “What would life be like if we were married? What if we started a family?” You thank the universe for them, because you truly love them.

This is a story of how a boy and a girl had an adventure and found themselves doing and saying things altogether unexpected. Our story begins with three ladies journeying to Indiana Comic Con together. Austin had already been at the convention center with his friends. Over the past two weeks, he had posted photos of his Star-Lord cosplay on Instagram. So Lacey knew he would be there; she hoped she'd see him in person. But knowing how many people would be at Comic Con, she knew it was a slim chance. - - - As Lacey roamed the isles with her friends, she checked out the abundance of different artists, authors, and collectibles. After a while, the ladies arrived in front of the celebrity booths. Lines were forming to meet various actors and actresses. While her friends were trying to decide which celebrity they wanted an autograph from, Lacey glanced around to see what else the convention had to offer. She suddenly noticed a tall, helmetless Star-Lord walking right past her. It was Austin! He had been wandering around, scouting out people to take pictures with. Lacey surprised herself by shouting his name, then running towards him and giving him a giant hug. It seemed as if he, too, was surprised that she hugged him. They chatted for a bit before going their separate ways. As they walked away, though, something wrapped around their minds. Like a piece of thread pulling their thoughts toward each other. Lacey could not shake the impression he had left on her. She wanted to see him again. But where could he have gone? - - - The ladies searched the convention center high and low, but their efforts were fruitless. Lacey sheepishly messaged Austin that she wished they had gotten a picture together. She was secretly hoping that they would meet again and she could get his number. Austin didn't really take the bait the first time, but Lacey was determined. She gathered the courage to ask where he was, and he answered! The girls quickly made their way to his location. They did get a picture together, but Lacey quickly lost all courage to ask for his number. Thankfully, though, this exchange was only the beginning. Shortly after meeting each other, Austin resorted to "poking" Lacey on Facebook (does anyone still remember when that was a thing?). A few weeks later, Austin had finally worked up the courage... He wanted to take Lacey on a date. He asked... And she said yes! And so began their next chapter.♥

How did you first meet? We had been friends on Facebook for a few years. But we didn't officially meet until we happened to see each other at Indiana Comic Con on April 15, 2017! - - - Where did you go on your first date? We started at Tappers Arcade Bar, then went to Bazbeaux's pizza for dinner! - - - Who asked who out? Lacey asked Austin (during a solar eclipse) on 8/21/17. ♥ - - - How did the proposal go? On Christmas morning in 2021, after opening their gifts, Austin got up to go get something. He came into the living room, sat down next to Lacey, and pulled out a small wooden box. He opened it, and asked Lacey, "Will you marry me?" He was a nervous wreck, and Lacey was an excited wreck as she said, "Yes!" - - -
