In the fall of 2016, after setting up a whopping 5 mile search radius from my apartment, I matched with Patrick on bumble. For our first date, we met at Olive or Twist, a favorite bar of both of ours. At this point, Patrick was still driving his 2000 Honda Accord with the glued on side-view mirror. Immediately I was impressed- I figured if Patrick really was a physician's assistant and drove this piece, he must be a humble guy. I quickly figured out that he was... on both accounts! We both had plans to watch the LSU game at friends' houses that night, but cancelled those plans to stay at Olive or Twist to talk the whole night.
Our engagement took place while on our summer vacation in June of 2019. We returned to one of our favorite places (Colorado) to enjoy a few days in Fort Collins checking out some local breweries and then a few nights in Estes Park at the Stanley hotel. The first activity we had planned in Estes Park was to do a 4 hour private tour of Rocky Mountain National Park with just Katelyn, myself, and our tour guide, Jared. With about an hour to spare in our tour (and having already achieved our main goal of seeing a moose) we made our last stop at Farview Curve, where our proposal finally took place. It was perfect timing as the sun had just began to set, as we looked over the Rocky Mountains. She said yes (of course) and the rest is history.
On our original wedding date of Halloween, we exchanged vows in a private ceremony overlooking Dillon Lake in Colorado.
