What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

Come to the Forest House Lodge for Pre-Ceremony Cocktail Hour at 2pm. The latest you can arrive at the Forest House Lodge to make it to the ceremony on-time is 3:30pm.

Is there a dress code?

Answer

The wedding is going to be Art Deco, 1920's glam. You can wear whatever semi-formal or cocktail attire you are comfortable with, but going for the vintage and 1920's vibe is encouraged!

Are children invited?

Answer

Due to guest count limitations, we cannot have children 3-17 yrs old at the wedding reception or cocktail hours. Babies and toddlers between ages 0-2 may come but please be mindful of noise during special events such as the ceremony and toasts. Kids of all ages are welcome to the Friday night Pre-Pi Party, the Ceremony, and the Sunday day-time Bowling. See Babysitting Recommendation FAQ.

Can I bring a date?

All guests are listed on your invitation. If you have a date but do not see a plus one listed, please contact Kevin or Julia and they will review if there is extra space after RSVP's are finalized.

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

See the Travel section for hotels. We have space for half of the wedding guests in Foresthill (Forest House Lodge and Miner's Camp) and half will stay at the Best Western in Auburn where we will have a shuttle for Saturday night. Anyone wanting to party later then 11pm Saturday or drink on Friday night should plan to stay in the Foresthill accomodations.

Yes, there is space for parking at both.

Are there any other events that I should know about around the wedding?

Answer

If you want to attend ALL events we are having--plan to come from Friday by 6pm to Tuesday morning. Flying into Sacramento or Reno is about equal in terms of total driving distances if you plan to attend the After Party in Tahoe City. Otherwise, flying into Sacramento is recommended. What babysitters do you recommend?

The Forest House Lodge has a list of local babysitters available for $15/hr (listed on the sheet linked below) Also, for professional babysitters, the company All About Kids Sacramento offers babysitting services in the area. http://www.allaboutkidssacramento.com/rates.php ($32/hr but discounts with additional children). Do you have a wedding shuttle?

Answer

Yes, we have a shuttle that will take guests from the Best Western in Auburn to the Forest House Lodge, Ceremony site, and back home at the end of the night. The shuttle will stop at 11:30pm, and Uber/Lyft does not have standard operations in Foresthill. For those that would want to stay for the After Party or drink on Friday night, stay at Miner's Camp or get an Airbnb/VRBO in town. Plan B: There are standard taxi companies that operate in the area (and occasionally Lyft will work), and for the right price, you can still get back to Auburn from Forest House Lodge---just find some other guests to share a nice and expensive (~$70) taxi ride with and party until 4am with us!
