Katie's Version: We met on Hinge in early 2020, right before the world turned upside down. It started with a few casual messages, and soon we planned our first date, poke bowls on the beach in Newport. It was simple, sweet, and felt like something out of a movie. I was about to move to San Diego for graduate school, so the timing wasn’t exactly ideal. But even with the distance, we kept finding ways to see each other. There was something about Nick that felt steady, comforting, and exciting all at once. It didn’t take long before I knew this was something special. We made it official on August 3, 2020, and a little while later, I (lovingly) convinced him to move to San Diego. The rest is history. Nick's Version: From the moment we met, I knew Katie was someone different. Our first date, sitting on the sand in Newport Beach, sharing poke and talking for hours, felt effortless. Even with the uncertainty of the world around us, being with her just made sense. As she moved to San Diego for grad school, we kept making it work. It never felt like a challenge, it felt like the beginning of something real. Eventually, I moved down to San Diego too, and life only got better from there. Together: Since those early days, we’ve built a life full of love, adventure, and growth. From exploring new countries to lazy beach days and cozy nights at home, every season has brought us closer.
