Flight
Los Cabos International Airport (SJD) is located 29 miles from the Waldorf Astoria resort, and is approximately a 45-minute drive. Taxis are accessible at the airport, or you can arrange private transportation through the resort in advance. Please remember to bring your passports in order to enter Mexico!!! (Note: Passport cards will not work...we have learned this the hard way!!!)
Travel Note
For those of you who have never traveled to Los Cabos, here are a few travel details to be aware of: 1. Ensure you have your passports with you for entry into Mexico. During your flight, you'll receive a customs form that you must complete before disembarking. 2. Upon arrival at Los Cabos International Airport, you'll go through three main steps: a) Immigration: show your passport b) Baggage claim: proceed straight on to baggage claim to retrieve any of your checked luggage. c) Customs Check: you'll present the completed customs form and undergo inspection by pressing a button on a machine. A green light means you're free to exit, while a red light may require your luggage to be scanned. After clearing customs, navigate through two rooms of vendors trying to sell (it's best to generally ignore all of them), exit terminal and find hotel staff, arranged transportation, or taxi kiosk for transfer to Cabo San Lucas (taxis cost $70-$90).
Hotel
Most of our official wedding weekend events will take place at the Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos resort at Pedregal, located on the Pacific Ocean beach adjacent to Cabo San Lucas. We'd recommend staying here in order to simplify your travel, but there are also many other hotels available in nearby Cabo San Lucas. If you choose to stay at the Waldorf Astoria, when making your reservation mention you are with the "Grossman/Courtney" wedding weekend to receive a discounted room rate and preferential priority for blocked rooms.
Hotel
Apart from the Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos at Pedregal, there are several great hotel alternatives in Cabo San Lucas: a. Casa Dorada Los Cabos Resort: a large and full-service resort hotel. Located adjacent to Medano beach which is lively and noisy by day. Convenient for beach access, water sports, and proximity to many of our favorite restaurants. About a 5-10 minute taxi ride to the Waldorf Astoria. b. Hacienda Beach Club & Residences: A large resort located just up Medano Beach from Casa Dorada, Hacienda is a quieter location with great beach access. c. Bahia Hotel & Beach House: A smaller, boutique hotel located one block inland from Medano Beach and Casa Dorada. d. Playa Grande Resort & Spa: Located on the same Pacific Ocean beach as the Waldorf Astoria (about a ten-minute walk), Playa Grande is a lower-priced alternative which is relatively close to our wedding venues.
