FAQs

Question

What is the weather like in Vail this time of year?

Answer

In Vail, Prepare for warm days and cool nights. 73° / 36°. When at Piney, the wedding venue, due to very high altitude, weather conditions can vary greatly throughout the season and change quickly. We recommend that you come prepared for any condition—including snow, rain, heat and high wind.

Question

Any advice for avoiding high altitude sickness?

Answer

Guests should prepare ahead of time. Advance to high altitude slowly, allowing your body to adjust. If you’re visiting us from low-altitude locations (i.e., outside of Colorado), try to spend a day or two at lower elevations before ascending. Drink lots of water, get plenty of rest and avoid consumption of caffeine and alcohol.

Question

Is there any wifi or cell service at the wedding venue?

Answer

There is no WiFi or cell service anywhere on the ranch. In case of emergency you can use the phone located inside of the main lodge.

Question

Are there any other events that I should know about around the wedding?

Answer

Yes! Welcome Party at Vail Brewing Co, Rehearsal Night at El Sabor and Wedding After Party. Please find details under 'Schedule'.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Yes, parking is available at Piney River Ranch for wedding guests! The road is not paved, so it can be a little rough—however, four-wheel drive is not necessary. Please allow at least 45 minutes from the start of the dirt road to arrive at Piney River Ranch. Transportation will also be provided to and from the wedding!

Question

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

Answer

Yes! Shuttles are provided for all guests at the Vail Transportation Center, Lionshead Parking Structure, and DoubleTree Highline Hotel at 2 pm. Please locate the shuttle pick-up location closest to your weekend accommodations. The road is not paved, so it can be a little rough—however, four-wheel drive is not necessary. Please prepare for a 45 minute shuttle ride.

Question

Answer

As much as we wish we could have everyone join us on our wedding day, we have been restricted to Adults Only as we are limited capacity at Piney :/ Thanks for understanding! Kids are welcome to our Welcome Party at Vail Brewing Co!
