Best Man
Gribs and Matt first met suffering high school Spanish together. Since then, they have spent countless hours sampling beers from hundreds of breweries, wandering the woods playing disc golf or hiking, and covered in mulch or Christmas tree needles from landscaping together. The two of them have a dream of opening their own brewery where Gribs does all the hard work and Matt comes up with creative beer names. You can find Gribs chatting it up at the bar, outside smoking a cigar, or on the dance floor getting his groove on.
Maid of Honor
When Katie and Alicia met in first grade, they were in the same advanced reading class, their phone numbers were one digit apart and they both had dogs named Jesse. That was the most they ever had in common, but life made sure they stayed friends after going to different schools. Alicia is always there to encourage Katie - even when Katie really didn’t want to shoot the ball in that one basketball tournament back in ‘08 - and Katie couldn’t ask for a more loyal and caring Maid of Honor. You can catch Alicia keeping the wedding timeline on track, ensuring the bride’s drink is topped off, and making friends left and right at the reception.
Groomsman
As brother of the groom, you’d probably expect a quirky joke about how Brendan has known Matt his entire life. You were right - he has. Although Brendan was originally bestowed the name Swirly by Matt in his early years, he is commonly referred to as “Bren”, “Brendo”, or by Matt’s friends, “YP” aka “Young and Prosperous.” In recent years, he has been keeping his older brother in-touch with the youths on the fun new drinking games. At the reception, you can spot the younger, much taller brother towering over the dance floor or catching up with family.
Bridesmaid
Katie and Maria had every class together in middle school and their friendship helped them survive the awkwardness of their preteen years together. From passing notes in the halls of high school, weekend visits to Boston (where Maria went to college and now lives), and trips to beautiful parts of the US, their friendship is going on 20 years! Katie’s mom still talks about the day when 13-year-old Maria used “garrulous” in a sentence. Find Maria by the bar for a quick vocabulary lesson disguised as an embarrassing story about Katie in middle school.
Groomsman
Jeremy and Matt first met at the Fairfax Green Turtle back in 2014 when Jeremy graciously offered Matt and teammate a ride home after an ultimate frisbee birthday party. By pure fate, they were floormates in their sophomore year at George Mason and played on the ultimate frisbee team. Jeremy and Matt captained the team their senior year, worked in intramural sports together, and Jeremy was Matt’s illegitimate roommate their senior year. Among many things, Jeremy loves his dog Callie, his cat Charlie, and the movie Titanic. You are going to need a few people to drag him off of the dance floor.
Bridesmaid
Katie and Victoria were in the same sorority pledge class and, once admitting their friend crushes on each other, became especially close during their sophomore year of college. All through college, they could be found side by side at frat parties, Villanova basketball games, or bar hopping on days that end with “Y”. Victoria is a wonderful travel companion, even that one time she lost her wallet on the first night of a week in Europe and Katie had to loan her money to buy French lingerie. Victoria is full of interesting trivia, anecdotes, and tips for the easiest way to hang things straight in your house. You’ll see Victoria busting a move on the dance floor all night.
Groomsman
Boykin and Matt first met at ultimate frisbee practice their sophomore year and also happened to be floormates. They spent the next three years playing on the ultimate frisbee team, going on long drives to the South for spring break or drinking somewhere on campus, and soon liked each other enough to be roommates their senior year. Boykin is an expert in aviation identification and if he isn’t looking at a plane at the wedding, you can find him with a rum and coke in hand, burning up the dance floor.
Bridesmaid
Katie and Erin shared a room during their freshman and senior years at Villanova - the latter of which was spent in the most questionable apartment either of them ever lived in, where the heat turning on sounded like a home invasion and the microwave wouldn’t work if the air conditioning was on. Erin is the hardest working person Katie knows with a sense of humor that keeps everyone on their toes. You’ll find Erin making friends at the bar and showing off her tattoo of her one-eyed cat.
