One beautiful summer day in August of 2019, Taryn and a few friends decided to go to happy hour down the street from their apartment. Briar Common in Jefferson Park, CO had a great happy hour deal where you can get a burger and a beer for like $10. Taryn and the girls took advantage of the sunshine and sat on the upper deck outside for a few hours having drinks and spilling all the tea. At the time, this guy Josh they all knew was a the server at Briar. He said some of his friends were coming for a few drinks and that we should join them downstairs. Taryn and the girls went downstairs and sat at a long bar height table. Some of Josh's friends were already there but about 15 minutes later, Mitch, who lived in Taryn's building, walked in with a guy in a salmon pink golf shirt. They sat down at the opposite end of the table. After a few drinks and some good conversation, Taryn leans over to Tyla or Avery and mentions that the cute guy in the salmon shirt at the end of the table keeps making eyes at her. Shortly after, the salmon shirt guy takes the leap and makes his way over to Taryn. He introduces, "Hi, I'm Brock." The two didn't leave each other's sides the rest of the night. Brock, Taryn, Mitch, Tyla, Avery, and some others made their way back to the Decatur Point Apartment building to continue their night at Mitch's. Around midnight or so, Taryn announced that she was headed upstairs to her apartment and Brock so graciously offered to walk her home. She responded with, "I live upstairs", but he insisted. Outside of apartment 523, Taryn and Brock shared their first kiss which Brock followed up by asking "Can I give you my number?" Taken back, Taryn questioned the ask because that's not exactly how it goes. Turns out, his phone was dead, so he got a pass. The next morning, Taryn had plans to go to her pool and catch some rays with her roommates Avery and Savannah. She went to a hair appointment first and by the time she got home, Brock and Mitch were at the pool hanging with everyone. Brock gave her grief for not reaching out yet, even though it was 10:30 the next morning. They spent the day by the pool. planned their first date, and haven't been separated since! *this story is written from Taryn's point of view*
