It’s very easy to find the beach accesses and coral at the Bight Reef. There are two adjacent accesses, with parking and pedestrian paths that lead to the beach and close to the reef. If you’re staying at a hotel or resort in the Bight or on the western side of Grace Bay, it’s also possible to walk along the beach to the Bight Reef. If you’re staying at Wymara Resort or West Bay Club, you’ll want to head east (right if you’re looking at the ocean) about 1,500 feet (457 m).
Chalk Sound is a highly scenic natural lagoon in southwestern Providenciales. This national park features shallow and brilliant turquoise water with hundreds of small rocky islands. The main attraction for most visitors is sightseeing by road on the southern side, or kayaking and paddleboarding its clear waters. Las Brisas Restaurant (part of Neptune Villas) is the only business located in Chalk Sound offering kayak rentals, with rates by the hour. Reservations are recommended.
Beautiful snorkeling site off central Providenciales, and comprises several distinct reef systems and coral heads. The outer reefs at this location are the best easily accessible beach snorkeling site on the island.
Providenciales is home to most of the luxury resorts and hotels in the Turks and Caicos, and likewise offers the best shopping opportunities of any island in the country. There’s an excellent and interesting selection of gift shops, art galleries, and luxury goods stores to browse, many of which are centered around a few shopping plazas and courtyards in the Grace Bay area.
Dinners at Terra Mar are largely one-of-a-kind—to keep their offerings fresh and inventive, the restaurant changes its menu every three months. Each dish is dreamed up and carefully crafted by celebrated Chef Luis Duarte-Peñaloza. (we ate here when we first visited the island and the food was incredible!)
