The Wedding Website of Patricia Jacinto and Pierre Roeseler
There's a lot to do in and around Comillas but the entire North Atlantic coast with places like San Sebastian, Bilbao, Galicia -- are all nearby and worth visiting if you're already in the area!

Flight

Santander

The nearest international airport to Comillas is Santander (SDR), the capital of Cantabria. If you're coming from Europe you'll likely be able to find a direct flight to Santander, but for those who will be flying from Asia/US, the quickest way to Comillas would be to find your way to Madrid, take another plane to Santander and from Santander rent a car and take the 30-40 minute drive westward to Comillas. Wondering how long total travel this will be? For those coming from the Philippines, it's just a little bit longer than the traffic jam we have when traveling EDSA northbound on payday Friday... But seriously: Manila-Madrid: this is the longest leg of travel and the flight can take from 15-20+ hours depending how long your layover will be Madrid to Santander: 1 hour flight OR 4 hour train ride -- you choose! Santander to Comillas: 30-40 miniute drive Above excludes wait times before flights/trains and brings total transport time to almost 24 hours! TIPS!!! For those traveling with babies/young children and for those who have the time, you might want to consider breaking up the travel into different legs by spending a few nights in Madrid (or where ever you land) and work your way towards Comillas over a couple of days, taking in all the beauty that Spain has to offer!

Train

Renfe Train

If you'd rather experience the scenic views that trains offer, we would recommend hopping on the train from Madrid to Santander! Once in Madrid, you will need to transfer to Chamartin station and get a ticket on Renfe train all the way to Santander. From the Santander train station, make your way to the Santander airport to pick up your car rental and drive to Comillas.

Rental Car

Seve Ballesteros-Santander Airport

s/n Calle Aeropuerto, Maliaño, CB 39600, Spain

As Comillas is a small town of 3,000 people the best way around the town proper is actually through walking, but if you’d like to visit the nearby beaches such as playa de Gerra or playa de Oyambre (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!), neighboring towns such as Santillana del mar, or cross to Asturias to try their famous cider (sidra) and fabada asturianas, the best way around would be via car rental. The nearest place to Comillas with multiple options for car rental services would be in the Santander airport. If you choose to drive up to Comillas from where ever in Europe you're coming from, by all means do so! The views of the Spanish countryside definitely make the drive worthwhile.
