Formal invitations will be sent by mail in the coming months. Once you receive yours, you can RSVP by returning the enclosed reply card or by responding directly on this website. We kindly ask that you RSVP by June 15th.
We’re aiming for a festive, relaxed feel, so think cocktail, summer-formal or semi-formal attire. August in Dingle can be mild but breezy, so bring a light jacket for the evening.
Saturday’s pub party will be casual and cozy. Wear what makes you comfortable for an afternoon of music, drinks, and post-wedding craic.
A little mist adds to the magic! But don’t worry: if the weather doesn’t cooperate, we have the cocktail hour and dinner planned for indoors, with an outdoor terrace to enjoy if we're lucky.
Yes! You can alert your server at when seated of any allergies or dietary needs. If you have a severe allergy that requires a separate kitchen preparation area, please notify us when you RSVP.
Parking is generally free and easy to find around town, especially near the harbor and along the side streets. During busy summer weekends, it can get crowded, but there are several public car parks within walking distance of the main street. Most hotels and guesthouses also have parking available for guests.
Yes! Both our ceremony and reception venues are fully wheelchair accessible. St. Mary’s Church has step-free access, and the Dingle Skellig Hotel is located on the ground floor with no steps. For accommodation, the Dingle Skellig Hotel offers several mobility-friendly rooms, and there are other accessible lodging options (such as Base Accommodation Dingle) listed on our Travel page. For more details on accessible travel in the area, you can visit this helpful local guide: https://dingle-peninsula.ie/plan-your-stay-dingle-peninsula-south-west-ireland/accessible-tourism-on-the-dingle-peninsula.html
Dingle is small and very walkable. For exploring outside town, renting a car gives the most flexibility. If you prefer not to drive, taxis and local drivers are available.
Irish summers are mild and ever-changing. Expect sunshine, sea breezes, and a sprinkle of rain all in one day! August highs average around 67°F, and lows around 56°F, so pack layers and a rain jacket just in case. Locals say: If you don’t like the weather, wait five minutes.

We’ll be celebrating the Irish way! While open bars are common at weddings in the US, they’re not the tradition here in Ireland. Instead, we’ll be offering complimentary welcome drinks during the cocktail hour and wine service with dinner. As the dancing begins, you can purchase your favorite pint or cocktail directly at the bar (via card or cash).
If you're flying from the US, check Shannon Airport (SNN) first. It has direct transatlantic flights from several US cities and US preclearance, making it the smoothest experience. Dublin has more routes but is a 4.5-hour drive/4hr+ train ride, a long haul after a transatlantic flight. Kerry Airport is the closest to Dingle but has no direct US routes.
Yes! There will be about an hour to an hour and a half between the ceremony and the reception. We highly recommend stopping for a pint at the iconic Dick Mack’s, the beloved pub right across the street from St. Mary’s, where our ceremony will be held. Afterward, a bus will transport guests from Dick Mack’s to the Dingle Skellig Hotel, where the reception will take place — it’s about a 15-minute walk, but we’ve got you covered!
You don’t need an international driving permit to rent a car in Ireland (a valid U.S. driver’s license works just fine). Keep in mind that driving here is on the left-hand side, and many rural roads are narrower and twistier than what you might be used to back home. Take your time, go slow, and enjoy the scenery! Most rental cars in Ireland have manual transmissions, so if you prefer an automatic, book early to ensure availability. It’s also a good idea to double-check insurance coverage. You can often add this directly through your rental company or credit card provider for peace of mind.
Passport & Entry Requirements: U.S. citizens don’t need a visa to visit Ireland for stays under 90 days. Make sure your passport is valid for at least six months beyond your travel dates. You’ll go through immigration when you arrive in Ireland, but the process is quick and straightforward. Time Zone: Ireland is in the Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) zone — that’s five hours ahead of Eastern Standard Time (EST) and eight hours ahead of Pacific Time (PST). Currency & Cards: Ireland’s currency is the Euro (€). Credit/debit cards (Visa, Mastercard) are widely accepted, but we recommend carrying a little cash for taxis, small shops, or rural areas where card machines may be slower. Language & Gaeltacht: Dingle lies within a Gaeltacht (Irish-speaking) region, so you’ll see many signs in Irish. Don’t worry — everyone speaks excellent English, especially in stores, pubs, and for local services. Power & Plugs: Plugs in Ireland are Type G (three rectangular pins). Be sure to bring a UK/Ireland travel adapter. Also, many sockets have a switch — make sure it's flipped “on” before plugging things in. Important: Ireland uses 230 volts, while the U.S. uses 120 volts i.e. electrical appliances from the U.S. won’t work here unless they’re dual voltage (most hair dryers, straighteners, and curling irons are not). Leave them at home — seriously, using the wrong one could blow a fuse… or the whole village! Tipping & Service: 10–15% tip in restaurants is appreciated, but not expected in pubs. Emergency & Health: For emergencies, dial 112 or 999. There's a pharmacy in Dingle town center if you need basics. We also recommend travel insurance to cover health or travel delays. Cell Phone Service: Most U.S. carriers offer international plans for $5 or $10 a day. For much cheaper, you can buy a local SIM or eSIM for data (try the app Airalo). Wi-Fi is common in hotels and cafés.
