Optional Fun Event: Fort Worth Stockyards

You are invited to join us for the Fort Worth Stockyards Cattle Drive (https://www.fortworth.com/the-herd/), a historic district that made Fort Worth an icon of western culture. The Stockyards offer a number of food, entertainment, and shopping venues that celebrate the region's long tradition as part of the cattle industry. RSVP here for your seat on the roundtrip shuttle from Denton to Forth Worth (approx. 35 minutes one way). We'll depart Denton by 2pm, then spend about 3 hours on location shopping, eating, and cattle poking. We'll have beverages in the shuttle. There is a restroom on-board for small bladders. If you'd like to join, please update your RSVP to be added to the shuttle list and a Whatsapp group for a more detailed itinerary. Shuttle pick-up location/time in Denton: (Nov 15) Arrive before 2:00p CST at Austin Street Truck Stop - 208 N Austin St. Return shuttle from The Stockyards: 6:00p CST at same spot as drop-off in Fort Worth.

Located in downtown Denton, Austin St Truck Stop is a food truck park offering a variety of cuisines, tons of patio seating, and quick access to refreshing adult beverages at their adjacent sister bar, East Side Denton. The space is dog friendly and kid friendly (with a guardian) until 9pm. For those attending the stockyards, the shuttle bus will drop you off at Austin Street Truck Stop around 7pm. For those not attending the stockyards, this location is about a 10-minute Uber or Lyft ride from the hotels where we have room blocks. This will be a casual meetup, no RSVPs required. We'll enjoy some delicious local grub, then for those who want to keep the party going, 10 of Denton's finest bars and breweries are within an easy 5-minute walk. https://austinstfoodtrucks.com/

5:00pm: Arrive, grab a drink, and mingle! 5:30pm: Special welcome by Edna Tovmasian and other announcements 6:00pm: Dinner 7:00pm to 10:00pm: His & hers (themed) best dressed winners announced, newlywed games, dancing, and other shenanigans! 9:00pm: DIY karaoke in the library 10:00pm: "Quiet hours" ish. We have to keep it down for the neighbors while outdoors, but you are welcome to bring your outside voice inside to the library and join us for karaoke.
