We're finally getting our act together! #BARKtogether

We already knew it was forever, but we figured it was time to make it official and hopefully get some tax breaks. As our family and friends who have supported our relationship from its scandalous beginnings, we'd love for you to help us celebrate. Finally.

Who would have thought that a Texas girl and a California boy would find love in the city by the bay? Their separate stories began miles apart, but the love "in the air” knew no distance. Long ago, in a pre-pandemic world far, far away, Bekah and Mark both found themselves working as Recruiters at Southwest Airlines. Despite living states apart, they would see each other often at work events and wonder, "Who’s good looking?" If one thing’s true about Southwest, it's that their people knew how to have a good time after a hard day’s work. The line between colleague and friend get blurry at the famed "LUV Airline", and that might be because of the two alcoholic drinks (with dinner) they're allowed to expense! It may have started during one particular Flight Attendant hiring event in Oakland, CA. Mark suggested for his colleague friends to arrive early for some afternoon surf lessons in Pacifica, CA. The Denver team needed little encouragement. Leading up to the beach meet up, Bekah facetimed Mark multiple times that day (Rachael may be able to corroborate, the first of Bekah's friends Mark would meet). This was not typical at the time. While Bekah & Mark have very different memories regarding some of the details of that trip (or who was flirting with who) there’s no argument that it was the best of times and a harbinger of what was to come. More work events and work/friend events came and went and the undeniable chemistry between the two started developing. If a second thing’s true about Southwest, it’s that people talk. Secrets don’t stay secrets very long, and eventually whispers of who liked who started to spread. To Bekah's horror, a colleague-turned-dear-friend gave Mark a (very obvious) hint that he had an admirer on the Denver team (make sure you meet Laycee and Edna for their version of events)! Now that it was all out in the open, another hiring event, this time in Denver, presented an opportunity to see if this flirtation had the possibility of becoming more. It would be a snowboarding trip and all the usual suspects would be there. The trip was a blast, but the vibe between Mark & Bekah remained disappointingly professional. The work event was uneventful and in the chaos of everyone catching flights back home, the pair parted without any goodbyes. But then, an unexpected text: "come to San Francisco". This would be the start of their rendezvous for two. Bekah & Mark will never forget their first official date. It was a very memorable day for America, too. That’s because their first date was March 14, 2020. Sparks flew as Mark showed Bekah the best The Bay had to offer. The streets of San Francisco were strangely empty and news of a shutdown started to spread. Their magical weekend was overshadowed by a global pandemic. Neither of them knew when, or if, they would get the chance to see each other again. The world paused. Recruiting stopped. Travel was discouraged. That should have been the end of what might have been. But for this long-distance duo it had the very unlikely outcome of bringing them closer together. Bekah and Mark quietly made good use of their flight benefits and the empty planes. Mark braved the wilds of Colorado, and Bekah (begrudgingly) donned swimsuits for adventures in the Pacific. Mark even passed the ultimate test of winning over the Texas crew, Bekah's core friends from college. Though the theme of their adventures was, “I’m on vacation!”, it was obvious that neither of them saw this as temporary. Bekah moved to California, and their little work fling ended with a ring!
