As you know, Brandyn and Tamara are no stranger to serving in the church. Brandyn mentioned he first messaged Tamara on social media after she ministered a song a couple of years ago, but she didn't notice him until he started visiting the Atlanta area where she served her local church in Marietta. "He seemed to be a visiting preacher; quite frequent I might add. He would come every month, but I didn't pay him too much mind since he wasn't local", she says. But later Tamara noticed he started coming every Sunday. Brandyn's friends would tell him that the singer in the choir stand keeps checking him out, though he downplayed the attention they noticed. "I didn't think my noticing him, was so noticeable. His DMs were always friendly and cordial, but as time progressed, he started to share how he really felt", she says. "Yeah, I know music is her thing, so I threw a little slight hint with a song on how I felt about her- Musiq Soulchild's- Just Friends. And the rest is history", Brandyn says. Brandyn shared with her his plan for purposeful and intentional fellowship and she gladly accepted the invitation.

It's after Thanksgiving, leading up to Brandyn's birthday (Dec 25th) and he invited me to go home with him and meet his family in his hometown. He mentioned they were throwing him a big birthday party and wanted me to be there with him. And because it's Christmas, "the story" was that we were exchanging gifts at the party. While I'm looking for my phone to capture pictures, everyone announced, "oh, we have the pictures taken care of". Once I looked up and noticed all the camera phones were facing Brandyn, I became nervous but knew he couldn't be asking today because this day is all about him. And after giving me a gift I've always wanted, he said he has one more gift for me... And BAM!! He dropped down to one knee with all sincerity and love in his heart and eyes while we were in a sentimental space- his home he grew up in with so many memories- in front of all those most near and dear to his heart- he asked me to be his wife, forever. With tears in my eyes and love in my heart, I said "Yes, I'll marry you".
