By Direct Invitation Only For out of town guests invited to the Haldi, we will provide transportation from the city to Plainfield. No need to rent a car! The word haldi means turmeric in Hindi, and it’s also the name of a traditional Indian wedding ceremony where a paste made of turmeric, oil, and water is applied to the bride and groom’s skin. This ritual is believed to bless the couple and bring a radiant glow before the big day. Lunch will be provided. Ladies, if you’d like to get henna, we’ll have several talented artists at the event so you can take part in this pre-wedding tradition.
9:30 am - 10:30 am
Attire: Come dressed in Indian Formal! The ceremony will take place soon after.
The Baraat is a celebratory parade for the groom on his wedding day. It's a big party with all guests, where attendees show how excited they are for the groom.
