Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

Please arrive at Merrimon-Wynne House by 5:00 p.m. for the ceremony. The ceremony will begin at 5:30 p.m., and we'd love for you to have a moment to relax, get a pre-ceremony drink, and enjoy the venue.

We truly wish we could invite everyone’s guests, but due to space constraints, we’re only able to accommodate those listed on the invitation.

Question

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

We have a block of rooms available at the Hyatt House Seaboard Station. It is a six-minute walk from the hotel to Merrimon-Wynne House. Please let the front desk know you are with the Pickens-Andrews wedding.

Question

Is there parking?

Answer

The parking lot is located on Polk Street, across the street from Merrimon-Wynne. Below are driving directions: Traveling down Blount Street from Peace Street, you will pass The Merrimon-Wynne House on your left. Take an immediate left on Polk Street and the parking lot will be located on your right between Blount and Person Street. Traveling down Person Street from Downtown Raleigh, you will turn left on Polk Street and the parking lot entrance will be on your left, just past The Burning Coal Theater.

Question

Is there a plan in the event of extreme weather?

Answer

Absolutely! Weather permitting, we will hold the ceremony outdoors on the lawn of The Merrimon-Wynne House. This area is shaded by large oak trees. The cocktail hour will take place in the main house, and the reception will be held in the carriage house next to the lawn. In the event of rain or extreme heat, the ceremony will be moved indoors to the carriage house.

Question

Is this a religious event?

Answer

While we welcome friends of all faiths, we will be having a Methodist Christian ceremony. Anna's childhood minister and longtime Danek-Pickens family friend, Pastor Ben Alexander, will perform the ceremony.

Question

Can I take photos?

Answer

We kindly request that our ceremony remain phone and camera-free. We will be sure to share our photographers' shots as soon as they are available. Please feel free to take photos at the cocktail hour and reception.
