TYS is the closest airport, only 20 mins from downtown. The area is sparse with public transit, so we would recommend planning on getting an uber/lyft or coordinating a rental car.

BNA/Nashville International

For those of you flying internationally, you may choose to fly into Nashville. This is a good option for international travelers as the Knoxville airport has limited flights/airlines supported. Please keep in mind that the drive from Nashville to Knoxville is around 3 hours, and you will drive out of the Central time zone and into Eastern, losing an hour.
