Schenectady Greenmarket
The Schenectady Green Market is a year-round Farmers Market. During the spring it will be in the streets surrounding Schenectady City Hall. This is one of our favorite ways to get out and enjoy the weather, downtown Schenectady, and local food. The Market is open 10:00 am - 2:00 pm.
Jay Street
Jay Street is a pedestrian street in Downtown Schenectady with lovely shops and great paces to eat.
Rivers Casino & Resort Schenectady
Near the Courtyard Marriott where we have one of our hotel blocks. There are many shops along the riverfront as well.
Whitney Book Corner
Used book store operated by the Friends of the Schenectady County Public Library.

A great place for kids. The museum also has a planetarium.

A local aquarium for families and adults alike.

Lock 8 Park
Park and bike trail along the Erie Canal. Check out a working lock. A canal lock is a device used to raise or lower boats between stretches of water at different levels.
Honest Weight Food Co-op
Honest Weight Food Co-op started out as a bulk foods buying club back in 1976 and has one of the largest bulk food sections in the northeast. We love the cost savings we get when buying seeds, herbs, spices, and loose leaf teas in bulk. The co-op also has plenty of fresh produce, ready to eat meal options, and fun personal care items (also available in bulk).
USS Slater - Destroyer Escort Historical Museum
WWII destroyer escort ship. Ship tours are available every 30 minutes from 10:00 am - 4:00 pm. While you're downtown, we also recommend walking the Corning Preserve.

Albany Pine Bush Preserve
The Albany Pine bush is 3,400 acre preserve with many hiking trails. The Pine Bush is an inland pine barren system and a relic of the last ice age. There is also a Discovery Center.
Corning Preserve

John Boyd Thacher State Park
Hiking trails and a visitor center overlooking the Helderberg Escarpment.
