One word, MAGICAL! We were leaving on a trip to New York to see the city during the holiday season. Ever since Uncle Paul took us there one summer, New York has become one of our favorite destinations. All week long PJ had been doing little things to make sure we were ready for the trip. If you know me, you know I love to travel but also am very type-A and can sometimes get stressed when leaving Haydn and Bella. Anyways, PJ had somehow turned our little home into a Christmas movie scene. The tree was all lit up, Christmas music was playing, Haydn and Bella were snuggled up on the couch and he knew this was the perfect way to ask me. In our home, with our fur babies surrounded by the love in our home. He hid the ring in our Advent calendar and told me he had a little surprise for the plane. When I pulled out the ring, stunned, I turned around and he was on one knee. The champagne was popped and calls to our immediate family were made. Did I mention PJ had asked my dad previously? As if this wasn't special enough, the story does not end there. Still in a daze, we made our way to our red eye flight. Of course we were like little kids giddy with excitement the whole flight. We got to New York very early Thursday morning and because it was so early, our hotel was not ready yet. We decided to bundle up in our coats, hats and gloves and go to breakfast at one of our favorite little hole-in-the-wall diners. Think the Seinfeld diner type of place. Now completely stuffed we decided to take a stroll through Central Park. Sure enough New York never disappoints and it began to snow! The park was so quiet and so peaceful, we had parts completely to ourselves. Truly magical! We topped off the day with ice skating at the Rockefeller Plaza and dinner at our favorite little Italian restaurant. The kind of place where the owner joins you at your table while dining. We spent the rest of the trip sipping hot chocolate, enjoying the snow, shopping and eating! It was so special!
