You are welcome to wear any color and style of Indian attire that you like for the Mehndi! For ladies: Lehenga's are the most common- a cropped blouse, a skirt, and a scarf. Salwars Kameez - pants, a long top and a scarf. Sarees - a cropped blouse with a long cloth draped into a skirt. These, however, will be the most work to put on and will require A LOT of Youtube videos to prepare. For men: Kurtas are the most coming style for men- pants and a long shirt. Sherwanis - shirt and pants with a long jacket. You can always reach out to us if you have any questions on the styles!
These are some great online sites you can use that will ship Indian clothes to the US. https://www.kalkifashion.com/ https://www.houseofindya.com/ https://www.perniaspopupshop.com/ https://www.cbazaar.com/ https://www.utsavfashion.com/ Please keep in mind that all of these sites will be shipping overseas, so we recommend leaving some time for alterations and to buy in bulk if possible! Please pay attention to the sizing guides as well when purchasing.
The best mode of transportation in Lisbon is Uber or BOLT. You can get from one end of the city to the other for less than 10 Euros! Transportation will be provided to and from the reception on Saturday, departing from the hotel.
For great music and bar hopping, we suggest going out around Bairro Alto! It is a fun and safe neighborhood with bars that spill out onto every street. It is also a great place to stay, but be aware, it will be nosy till late into the night.
Odd question, I know, but do not be a superhero and wear heels everywhere! The streets are cobblestone and incredibly steep, so walking around with heels are not the best option. Unless you’re doing door to door taxi service, please wear alternate shoes that you can change out of once you reach the venue.
