Originally we met through volleyball nights at his church. We didn't really talk though until we were in the same monthly Bible study with mutual friends. Eventually, one time I was running late and the only seat available was next to a cute engineer! We talked for a little bit after and I started liking him there :)... only to not see him again for another 2.5 months! I was so sad, I was wondering if he had moved away! But finally we both attended another Bible Binge... and someone had put my things on the chair next to him! So naturally I sat by him again and we ended up talking again after the study for a while. The next day, he messaged on GroupMe me saying he enjoyed our conversations and asked me out! I was jumping up and down, I was so excited! The funny thing is he suggested the following Wednesday, which happened to be my birthday. I thought nothing of it and said yes that works for me haha, figuring I'd just tell him later down the line that our first date was on my 29th birthday and we'd laugh about it. Besides, up to that point all I really wanted was a date with the sweet musician I'd had a crush on during that summer. Ironically though in the days in between, a little birdie told him that was my birthday and to "do with that information what you will". He was conflicted about it and wondered if it was appropriate to acknowledge it through a gift or other means. Ultimately, neither of us mentioned it at all on the date even though we both knew lol- but he got my coffee :) We had a great time at Coffeehouse on Cherry Street and walking around Swan Lake for hours- now we've been together for 2 years and the rest is history! :)
