A Tale as Old as Time

It all started on the world wide web. I decided to put a dating profile up, with little thought that anything would come of it. I added restrictions to my profile, so that you had to write at least a certain amount to even contact me. When I received a novel from Philip, I was intrigued. So, I messaged him back. Shortly after, we met at Olive Garden for our first date. It was wonderful. So effortless. Conversation came natural, and I knew before leaving that he would be someone very special in my life. I prayed and asked God about him. Of course, I’m going to go to my heavenly daddy for his approval first. Falling in love with him was easy. The way he treats me, speaks to me, cares for me, and loves me is a beautiful expression of the way God loves me. We went to Pennsylvania to spend Thanksgiving with my family, but little did i know the best suprise was coming. The day after Thanksgiving, my whole family got dressed up to take “family photos”. We went to Friendship Hill in the middle of the forest preserve just as the sun was setting. My sister Loral was taking pictures and instructed us to stand back to back. She gave each of us a chalk board and told us to write something we’re grateful for in the other person. Mine was easy to write. I wrote, “How well he loves me.” Once he was finished, my sister counted to three and we turned around to face each other. When i turned, there he was on one knee with the ring in one hand and his board that read, “I’ll be grateful when you say yes! Will you marry me?”. I immediately started crying and kissed his face. Once I caught my breath, I finally said yes and he slipped the ring on my finger. So much love flooded my heart and all the emotions washed over me like waves crashing on the ocean shore. This was it, my fairytale moment come true. Guess what?? It was better than I could have imagined. God is definitely in the details. I’m so glad I waited for the right one. God was preparing the best! 🥰🖤🌻

A Beast of a Tale

Ferdinand the Bull

Love will find you when you least expect it. Sometimes, it finds you in a challenge. This is how my love found me, while browsing through boring and mediocre profiles, I came upon a beautiful woman that immediately caught my eye. I decided to send a message, "Hello, how are you today?" ***ERROR this user has requested a longer message to begin a conversation***, challenge accepted!! I crafted the most epic message ever crafted on an online dating website in the history of the world, obviously. Shortly after i received a response and the conversation flowed effortlessly. We began talking on the phone and decided we would go on our first date. I nervously drove to Olive Garden in Huntsville to enjoy my last first date with the person I would end up spending the rest of my life with. Thank God she enjoyed our time together. From there we went on a second, third and fourth date. I could tell this was the person God had intended for me to share life with and decided to take a chance and ask her to marry me. With the help of her Sister Loral, we planned an outing while we were visiting her family in Pennsylvania for Thanksgiving. In the last rays of a setting sun, in the middle of a forest preserve filled with a beautiful fog and while being watched by a family of deer, it happened. I waited while she was turned with her back to me writing what she was thankful for on a whiteboard she had been given by her sister. On one knee i held her ring along with my whiteboard which read "I will be thankful when you say yes. Will you marry me?" As she turned toward me I could see the flash of the last bit of light in her eyes just before they began to water. One guess as to what her answer was. I placed the ring on her shaking finger and thus began the second chapter in our story. We of course celebrated with her family by going to the place where this all started.....Olive Garden. God has truly blessed me to have her in my life.

First Love

You have searched me, Lord, and you know me. You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways. Before a word is on my tongue you, Lord, know it completely. You hem me in behind and before, and you lay your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain. Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast. If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide me and the light become night around me,” even the darkness will not be dark to you; the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to you. For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. How precious to me are your thoughts,[a] God! How vast is the sum of them! Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand— when I awake, I am still with you. Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. -Psalm 139 He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end. -Ecclesiastes 3:11
