3:50pm-Pick a seat not a side, you're loved by the groom and the bride!
This is an adults only ceremony, dinner and reception. However, we are happy to inquire about the childcare services provided by the sister resort on your behalf if you are traveling with your children.
Cocktail Attire: Wear cocktail dresses, dressy jumpsuits, and jackets with slacks. Clean lines, solid colors, crisp textures…more elegant than bohemian. Our wedding vibe is cosmic / futuristic and the resort boasts a contemporary and minimalistic aesthetic. That being said, please dress comfortably and confidently. We welcome your inner chic.
We will all be walking to the restaurant as a group. No transport needed.
Yes, please let us know about any restrictions and preferences. We will be offering vegetarian options.
We are registered here on Zola for loved ones who cannot attend but would like to gift us. For those who will be joining us for our big day, we respect and appreciate the efforts and expense that it takes to travel thousands of miles to celebrate with us. We do not expect any gifts as your presence is all the present we need. You are our gift.
Our resort is the Platinum Yucatan Princess and we highly recommend staying here. It is adults only. If you are planning on bringing your children to Mexico with you, we suggest the sister resort next door, The Grand Sunset Princess. All guests staying at the Platinum Princess will have access to the Grand Sunset (but not vice versa). These two resorts share the same beach since they are neighboring (yay!). We kindly ask you to let us know where you would like to stay in order to secure our rates based on number of interested parties staying at the Platinum Yucatan Princess and the Grand Sunset Princess. 4:00pm-4:35pm Ceremony at Skylight Terrace 4:30pm - 5:30pm - Cocktail Hour 6:00pm-7:30pm Dinner at Bruschetta 8:00pm-11:00pm Reception (Dancing, Toasts, Fun) at Skylights Restaurant Terrace
Once you've RSVP'd, we suggest that you make sure that your passport is current. Getting travel insurance is a great idea and the cost is generally minimal. It's also a good idea to inform your bank and your wireless provider to let them know that you are leaving the country.
https://www.cancunairport.com/transportation.html You can also set up a pick up with the resort for a driver. Groups that are traveling together or have flights in close proximity can get group discounts with transportation shuttle vans. There’s also the option of renting a car. We’ve done this in the past and suggest going with a known national brand. Even with with pre-booking (best rates) you can expect to incur additional per day charges of about $30-$50….this is why the $8 a day packages that the online bundles offer are too good to be true.
We absolutely love it! This is where we got engaged and therefore we are biased. However, we think that you will love it too for it’s stunning suites and modern, yet very Mayan aesthetic. There are several different delicious all-inclusive restaurants available with various types For a quick dive into our resort, check out this fun video! https://youtu.be/gHhpHnDMpJM
It may seem obvious but, please remember to pack your up to date passport. We also suggest bringing sunscreen and insect repellent (if you plan on going on a jungle or cenote adventure). Comfortable clothing and shoes (sandals and sneakers) are also recommended. The dress code for the restaurants is casual but most people clean up (AKA no beachwear or coming in a towel straight from the beach or pool), especially for dinner.
This is a great video with some solid tips on Cancun (where the airport is) and the surrounding area. We are also happy to answer any questions you have to the best of our ability. https://youtu.be/Q4hU9upzVug
Great question! We have hired an incredible photography and videography team! We want our footage to be free of phones ringing so we ask that you turn them off or to silent. We aim to be able to capture and later frame our photos free of phones, DSLR cameras and cellular phones in the shots. Lastly, we want our guests present and connected during this special time, free of technology. If you could honor this for us during our 40 minute ceremony, we would’ve extremely grateful. Thanks!!
Please call your bank and credit card company prior to leaving the country to prevent fraud alerts. Because most resorts in the Caribbean are all-inclusive, how much cash or card use you utilize will have to do with shopping, tipping, dining and tours off grounds. We always tip the bar tenders, servers, housekeeping and taxi drivers as we would here. Please note that your cards should work in Mexico if you’ve called your bank and dollars can be converted into pesos (best exchange rates are usually on 5th Ave in Playa, not the airport or resort). We would suggest bringing at least a few hundred dollars of cash for the week and use your card as a default way to pay.
