Lauren and Phil were introduced via a blind date at Madtree Brewing in Cincinnati, Ohio in August 2017. They quickly realized they had not only the same interests, but also the same values. While Phil and Lauren may have different skillsets (Phil cooks, whereas Lauren is the “handy” one of the house), those skills complement one another and serve as the foundation for something special. United through their love of travel, they visited exciting places like British Columbia, Arizona, the north waters of Minnesota, Door County, Wisconsin, Utah, Florida, and Cleveland (perhaps the most or least exciting depending on perspective). They moved through COVID and life’s challenges together. Where some couples falter by 100% being around each other, uncertainty, and the day-to-day tension of sharing and working in a small apartment (the kitchen table was declared the conference room), Lauren and Phil grew closer. Fast forward to July 30, 2021 on the pristine waters of Lake Minnetonka, Phil packed up the boat bag and cooler. Lauren decided to take a boat ride before settling in St. Alban’s Bay. At this point, Phil was nervous--his knees were weak and palms were sweaty. In response, he did what a normal person does when they’re anxious before proposing—drank a Coors Light to quote “chill out.” He then reached into the cooler to grab the ring, turned around, and said to Lauren, “can I ask you a question?” before getting down on one knee. Neither Lauren nor Phil remember what was said, but after Lauren formally accepted his offer of marriage, they facetimed Phil's family to let them know of the great news. From there, they picked up Lauren’s family and celebrated with champagne and a dinner on the lake. The rest is history. Phil, Lauren, and their parents want to thank you for being part of their lives. The point of the wedding is to not only celebrate their marriage but also an opportunity to say “thank you" for your support and being part of their lives!
