Darndest Dino
How we know Joanna: The winning bridesmaid for knowing Kara the longest, Joanna is Kara's sister! A forever friend from beginning to end, moving around the country and across the ocean would've been a lot harder without a sister to go through it with. With a knack for making Kara feel either super cool or super funny, on her lowest days, there's no greater pick-me-up than chat and a chance for Kara to see herself through her little sister's eyes!
Dearest Ducky
How we know Rachel: Married to Kara's brother and mommy to the flower baby, Rachel has been an MVP crafter throughout the wedding. Giver of the world's finest handmade Christmas presents and the person who made Kara an Auntie- she drives a hard competition for Kara's favorite "Walton."
The GOAT
How we know Lisa: Lisa is Kara's new Sister-in-Bax! She is married to Phil's brother. A fellow plant lover who is always on a mission to have some fun, Lisa is Kara's go-to source for inspiration, commiseration, and contemplation when it comes to loving and being loved by a Bax boy!
Bestest Tater Tot
How we know Gabby: Gabby is Kara's "angel friend" because she sure swoops in when times are tough. Meeting through the Denton scene during Kara's college days, the pandemic drew them especially close when they both needed it most!
Chillest Chicken
How we know Lizzi: Another pal from vocal jazz school, Lizzi and Kara have bonded over experiences like The Bachelor, Cool Beans, the cheesiest of vocal jazz arrangements, post-pandemic pandemonium, dumb jobs and dumb boys. Whether near or far, Lizzi has been a constant pal through it all.
Cutest Cowgirl
How we know Stephanie: Stephanie is a college bestie from vocal jazz school! A like minded type-A thinker, she and Kara could always bring out easiest and breeziest of each other while still getting shit done! Married to fellow pal and drummer Ben Ehrlich, these two let Kara tag along as their adopted third-wheel-child in her singlest of days.
Goodest Goofball
How we know Caeley: Caeley is Kara's college freshman year bestie! Their adventures included: late-night CVS trips, late-afternoon boba trips, concerts, donut dates, cheap dinners out, elaborate dinner parties in, and Mike's Hard with spaghetti. Caeley is mommy to Kara's new baby besties, Reese and Rhett!
Chair of Cheer
How we know Katie Rose: At one point, this lil bud was a flower girl to the bride's parents, and now, she is the cheer captain for her baby cousin's wedding! Biologically, Kara and Katie Rose are cousins, but spiritually, these two are soul-sisters. Freakily alike but decidedly unique, Katie Rose and Kara have been known to dive head-first into the chaos of each other's worlds to then pull each other back up for a good laugh, cry, and chips & queso.
The First Friend
How we know Cody: When you're seven years old you end up spending a lot of time with your mom's best friend's children. Lucky for Phil, that ended up being Cody. Many years of ping pong, video games, and delicious meals later, Phil and Cody's friendship rivals that of their mothers.
GBF #1
How we know Matt: It was the first day of fifth grade and Phil was starting at a new school. Grandma Hutt marched him right up to Matthew and told them they were going to be friends. The rest is history.
The One I Couldn't Give Away
How we know Ryan: Phil's first interactions with Ryan all involved lots of screaming and tears. It was so unbearable that he suggested the family give Ryan to someone far enough away that he would never have to see him again. Fortunately, the parents of the groom would not stand for this, and after a rocky first few years, Ryan and Phil would become fast friends.
GBF #2
How we know Penko: "College is the best time of your life" they said. "You'll remember these years and wish you could go back" they said. They were right, but only because of a loveable goofball whose friends call him Penko.
FrisBae
How we know Jamie: It's gonna catch your attention when someone starts talking about Platonism at ultimate frisbee practice. Well... at least it did for Phil. Several years of frisbee and Friday Beers later, and you might confuse Phil and Jamie with the Platonic form of friendship.
Quaran-team MVP
How we know Josh: In the throws of a global pandemic, everyone could use cheap rent and a great roommate, and Josh came through in a big way for Phil. After first meeting in their PhD program, Phil and Josh quickly bonded over Super Smash Bros, basketball, climbing, and camping trips.
