Some guests have recently been exposed to COVID. Those that have tested positive will not be attending unless they have cleared the infection already (>10 days post symptom start). For those that have been recently exposed but have not tested positive, AND you still want to attend we ask that you: 1)Not attend if you become symptomatic (COVID or not) 2)Do not attend unless you test negative for COVID twice, one of them with a PCR (not antigen) test. 3)Try not to be from Florida (For reasons both related and unrelated to COVID). These steps would limit the chances you are infected. This does not mean you have 0% chance of transmitting it, but it significantly mitigates those chances. We have numerous immunocompromised/ pregnant people, and we want to protect them. If you need help with the cost of flights cancelled by this request, let us know. For those experiencing anxiety about the growing prevalence of COVID and coming to the wedding, here is some context around the event. You can interpret it in the context of your own values and risks, and make whatever decision you feel is best for your family - we will not be offended if you deem it too risky to come. Protective factors: >90% Vaccination rate of guests Those who are unvaccinated have been infected previously, generally conveying some degree of immunity, depending on when the infection occurred Hand sanitizer will be available. As it stands, we won't be wearing masks Low COVID rate in Pittsburgh Risks: Family style meal with shared utensils Indoor Some of these guests are handsy and tend to expectorate when they talk At least 20 doctors will be in attendance (highly vaccinated and good at masking, but possible COVID exposure up until the day of the wedding) If you are in a situation where you want to discuss your exposure and risk - please call. Or, if you aren't into mitigating risk, or any of the things listed above, I guess just go back to listening to Tucker Carlson.
