They met in the most fitting way—a wedding! Peyton was a college freshman interning with Embellished Weddings, and Joseph was part of the setup crew at The Baumberhof, a beautiful venue in Oklahoma. On one of their first event days together, Joseph actually mistook Peyton for a bridesmaid and briefly considered striking up a conversation—despite knowing he probably wasn’t supposed to chat with guests. Luckily, he soon realized she was part of the vendor team too. Over time, they worked countless weddings together—Peyton assisting with planning, Joseph managing the behind-the-scenes setups—and naturally formed a friendship. He almost asked her out just before she left to study abroad in Italy, but the timing wasn’t quite right. A couple of years later, right after Peyton’s 21st birthday, Joseph reached out with a belated birthday message. They were both home for the holidays and went on their first official date. From that point on, everything fell into place. Since then, they’ve navigated long distance, and now they’re excited to be having their destination wedding in Utah on June 13, 2026!
