Things To Do

Portugal has so many things to offer across its many diverse cities. Whether you plan to stay in Portugal for 4 days or 14 days, here are a few of our highlights.

Lisbon

Lisbon, Lisbon, Portugal

If it’s your first time to Portugal, you have to explore Lisbon! Make sure that you visit Belém Tower, explore Bairro Alto, Chiado and Alfama neighborhoods, and drink and dance the night away in Bairro Alto or Pink Street. Be sure to also check out some of the great restaurants: https://www.eater.com/maps/best-lisbon-portugal-restaurants

Sintra

Sintra, Lisbon 2710, Portugal

It’s hard not to fall head-over-heels in love with Sintra. Perched within the Sintra Mountains, this region has some of the prettiest castles in all of Europe. Around 30 minutes from the center of Lisbon, it’s pretty easy to visit for a day trip (or two). Make sure to visit: Pena Palace, Monserrate Palace, Castle of the Moors and the Palace of Sintra. These UNESCO World Heritage Sites are just too beautiful to miss.

Cascais

Cascais, Lisbon 2750, Portugal

Cascais is a historic fishing town just down the coast from the city of Lisbon and is the perfect place to chill out. Guincho is close to Cascais and is another location with beautiful beaches. Explore the quaint old town and the dramatic Atlantic coast.

Porto

Porto, Porto District, Portugal

Porto is a coastal city in northwest Portugal known for its stately bridges and port wine production. In the medieval Ribeira (riverside) district, narrow cobbled streets wind past merchants’ houses and cafes. Visit São Francisco Church, known for its lavish baroque interior with ornate gilded carvings or the palatial 19th-century Palácio de Bolsa.

Faro District

Faro District, Portugal

The Algarve, Portugal’s southernmost region, is known for its Atlantic beaches and golf resorts. Whitewashed fishing villages on low cliffs overlooking sandy coves were transformed in the 1960s, and now its central coast between Lagos and Faro is lined with villas, hotels, bars and restaurants.
