Each room has its own large fan & the buildings are stone so keep relatively cool. So dress to keep cool! As for toiletries- the chateau does NOT provide toiletries so please pack your own! If you forget there is a grocery store right down the road you can visit. Towels for showers + pool ARE provided! The chateau does provide hair dryers, so no need to pack unless you'd like to. *FOR THE GIRLS* All festivities are outside (wedding permitting) so please keep this in mind for shoes! Bring a pair of comfy flip flops to change into, or wear comfortable shoes for grass/gravel.
There are multiple ways to arrive to Durantie. Durantie is the very small town the chateau is located in. The surrounding area is the town Lanouaille. If you are coming from Paris, the easiest & most stress free way to arrive is really taking the train from Paris to Limoges! The train is very comfortable and has assigned seating as well as space for your luggage. From Limoges you will have to hire a taxi to pick you up and drive you to the venue, about 40 mins. To help cut the travel time, many guests are joining us in traveling to Bordeaux prior to the venue. Amanda & Matt will be arriving in Bordeaux on Saturday 7/5 from Paris and leaving Monday 7/7. There is a train from Paris to Bordeaux (approx 2 hrs) and then a train from Bordeaux to Thiviers (2 hrs). From Thiviers you will need a taxi for transport to the venue, however this is approx a 20 min drive. As for taxis- they can be hard to find and MUST BE BOOKED IN ADVANCE. If you have not reached out to me regarding transportation I have already assumed you have this covered. If not, rental cars are quite cheap and there is more than enough space to leave a car if you do rent one.
We ask that guests arrive to the chateau at or after 4pm on Monday 7/7 for the first day/welcome party. Welcome party starts at 7 pm.
Check out is 10 am on Thursday 7/10

Brunch will be served the day of the wedding & following morning of the pool party. The pool party we will be hosting a BBQ. Again please let staff be aware of any food allergies you may have.
