What is the dress code?

Answer

We would love to see our friends and family dress up for our big day! We are requesting cocktail attire (semi-formal) for the evening. We ask that our guests wear NEUTRAL COLORS and avoid any bright colors such as bright yellows, pinks, reds, oranges, etc. We also ask that you avoid any colors traditionally reserved for the bride (whites, ivories, creams). Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

Due to limited space, we are only able to accomodate those guests formally invited on your wedding invitation. If you received a plus one, they will appear under your name when you RSVP. Thank you for understanding!

Are kids invited?

Answer

We love your little ones! However, we have decided to keep our wedding and reception an adult-only event with the exception of the close family of the bride and groom. Enjoy this night off and we can't wait to celebrate with you!

What if I don't RSVP in time?

Answer

We will miss celebrating with you! We ask that all of our invited guests RSVP by the date sent on your invitation. We need to provide our venue and caterers with the exact numbers by a certain date. We hope you don't miss the deadline of July 25, 2026!

Alcohol Rules

Answer

There will be alcohol served at the venue, but they have strict alcohol rules. No guests under the age of 21 will be served. Halverson House does not serve shots, only mixed drinks or canned/bottled drinks. The bartenders will keep track of the amount of drinks being consumed, and have the right to cap any guest off due to their "no drunkenness" policy. Please do NOT bring any outside alcohol. This is against their rules and can result in fines for the bride and groom. There will be drink options for everyone! There will be plenty of alcohol-free options for our guests who can't/don't drink.

Where Should We Stay?

Answer

Please visit the "Travel" tab in our website for more information! There are hotels linked that are closer to the venue in the Waterford/Burlington, WI area. There are also hotels linked that are closer to the bride and groom in the Racine area, which are a little further from the venue.

Will the ceremony be outdoors?

Answer

Yes (If weather permits)! Please note the weather in late September can usually range from 60s to 80s, so dress accordingly! Our reception space is in a beautiful barn. This barn is not air-conditioned or heated, so again, please dress accordingly!

Can I take pictures of the ceremony?

Answer

We are having an "unplugged ceremony" (no phones or cameras). The greatest gift you can give us is being fully present as we say "I do". We have hired professionals to capture this moment for us and we promise to share our photos as soon as we receive them. After the ceremony, feel free to take as many photos and videos as you would like!

Do you have a gift registry?

Answer

Yes! Please navigate to the "Registry" tab where you can view our Zola registry. We also have an Amazon registry at https://www.amazon.com/wedding/share/ClairePeterHanson Gifts are in no way mandatory; your presence and support are more than enough to us!

Can we post photos online?

Answer

Yes! We just ask that you hold off on posting until after the ceremony is over! We do plan on having an unplugged ceremony but we would be more than happy to share our professional photos with you once our amazing photographer is done editing them!

Will there be meal options that cater to my allergies?

Answer

Yes! When you RSVP, we ask that you include any dietary accommodations you may need. Our wonderful venue does in-house catering that is all homemade and farm-to-table. They do a wonderful job of personally ensuring that the meal options are tailored to fit your dietary needs.

Will there be parking?

Answer

Yes! There are about 75 parking spots available at the venue! Feel free to carpool to save space!
