The village offers many shops, clothing stores, antique stores, restaurants, etc along the lake. You can also walk around Genesee Street and West Lake Street to see some of the more historic homes. There is public lake access for swimming, but please be aware there are occasional algae blooms that can be harmful. If others are swimming, that's a good sign.
There are scenic and historical boat cruises and including some with lunch /dinner options around Skaneateles Lake that discuss the lake ecology, historic homes, and regional history.
Apple orchard with great apple picking, they also have an onsite bar that serves their 1911 ciders and liquors distilled there.
The local town pub, sports are usually on, great wings. A fine establishment.
Doug's has been serving fresh seafood since 1982. Menu is simple and includes fish and chips, steamed clams, chowder, and a superb lobster roll. DON'T SLEEP ON THIS-go get a lobster roll for sure!

Well maintained hiking trails around a gorge with waterfalls, about 30 minutes south of the village of Skaneateles. Named after 13th and last elected Whig-Party President Millard Fillmore, who was born in the finger lakes.
Little local hidden gem waterfall about 15 minute drive from the village, there's a nice boardwalk now to a view point and there's a bit of a trail to follow to closer to and under the falls for more intrepid hikers.
