The views from the outside are amazing, but there are beautiful Gaudi pieces inside that are worth seeing! We visited in the morning and got to see beautiful sun shine through the stained glass. You can buy your tickets outside of the cathederal, or ahead of time on their website.
This is a great walk to get to Platja de Can Pere Antoni (the main beach in Palma). It is a wonderful pedestrian path where you can get amazing views of the cathedral! We would spend our mornings running on this path when we were training for our half/full marathon :) The best way to access is to just start heading to the ocean from Palma and you'll see the path following the beach
This is our favorite steak restaurant in Spain!! The portions are INSANE and the food is amazing (When we go, we share 1 order). We tried this place out on a whim during our trip in 2023 and will go back every time we're in Palma. The picana and chorizo are amazing!! Also, don't miss out on their bread/sauce. The sauce is similar to chimichurri, but with soysauce. It's great to add to your bread/on top of the meat. Note1: This is ran by a family w/ limited English - so get some basic spanish ready! Note2: This restaurant has 2 seatings per night. We recommend that you arrive at opening if you don't have a reservation. Reservations are made by calling the restaurant!
We went here to get some pre-dinner drinks and had a blast! The cocktails were good and the views were beautiful. There is indoor and outdoor seating available Note: It is a bit far from city center, but its a beautiful walk following the coast
Spend a day taking the historic train to Soller! The wooden train takes you from Palma into the heart of Mallorca with amazing views of the valley and mountains. Once in Soller, there are tons of shops and restaurants to explore. You can take the tram to the Port de Soller which is a beach town with a wide stretch of restaurants and a beautiful blue bay. It's definitely worth visiting both places!!! Note: Recommend that you buy the "Combined Train and Tram" tickets online (they open up 7 days in advance) since the train station can be hectic.
Rent a car and drive to visit the cute mountain towns of Valldemossa and Deia. They are beautiful towns built into the mountains with amazing views of the ocean or valleys. It is fun to just walk around and see the shops, restaurants, and buildings - it feels like you're on a movie set! In Valldemossa- we recommend trying coca de patata (a sweet bread roll) from Ca'n Molinas. The bakery is over 100 years old and the bread is delicious and fresh! Note: The drive to/from Deia is windy/narrow so take extra caution when making the drive!!
Take a day to drive to Sa Calobra. There are amazing views of the mountains/valley that are unlike anything we've seen before! Sa Calobra is a very small town (bring your own food) where you can walk through a tunnel to get to their cala. It's not an amazing cala, but very unique due to the rocks that surround the areas. Note: The weather on this part of the island is often cooler, so bring a coat!
Take your rental car and drive to Mirador de es Colomer for a stunning view of Mallorca's northern coast. From there, you can take a windy road to a Platja de Formentor. This beach has really clear water and amazing views. There are other hikes and beaches in their area that seem beautiful but we have yet to explore!
A trip to Mallorca is not complete without visiting the AMAZING calas (aka beaches/inlets). The eastern part of Mallorca has some of the best calas that we have seen! We recommend that you start your day AS EARLY as possible due to the crowds. 1. Caló del Moro - Probably one of the most famous in Mallorca, definitely come here early! A bit of a hike down so bring some sort of sturdy shoe. Parking is in a quiet neighborhood so be mindful of finding a spot 2. Cala S'Almonia - Right next to Calo del Moro, this is less swimmer friendly but just as beautiful. Lots of rocks to jump off of into the Mediterranean! 3. Mirador de Es Pontàs - Not a beach, but a pretty view to a unique rock formation 4. Cala Llombards - Larger beach, can get really crowded during the day time
Great place to see all of the beautiful produce and food stalls in Palma. We recommend that you go earlier in the day to see the most vendors
