Maid of Honor
Dereck is a panda in human form, with a serious volleyball addiction and a passion for traveling. Standing at 5'10" with arms that could double as cannons, it's entirely believable that he can bench press a person (because he absolutely can). But what’s even more impressive? He can draw a flawless winged eyeliner on Kim. Dereck and Kim first met in elementary school after his family moved to Connecticut. They bonded over their love of outdoor sports like basketball, their invented games like "nutball," movies, anime, GameCube, and their dogs (that never got along). In college, they'd religiously play ultimate frisbee every Sunday with his brother. Only a 15-minute walk away, Kim became a frequent and often unannounced visitor to Dereck’s house – so much so that it earned the title of her “second home.” Their friendship has stood the test of time, 20 years to be exact, and when they’re old and retired, they would like to be next-door neighbors once again.
Best Man
Peter and Kelly met in second grade. Elementary school was full of Mountain Dew fueled sleepovers usually consisting of playing Madden, watching MTV and waiting hours for a music video to download on Napster. They were basketball teammates and even performed together in two talent shows. Their fourth grade performance was a jaw-dropping cover of Blink 182’s, “All the Small Things. Their fifth grade performance was a stunning slam dunk showcase on a five-foot hoop. Middle school and high school were spent prank calling their classmates, filming copycat Jackass skits around the neighborhood, concerts, and more Mountain Dew, of course. Despite Kelly’s moves to New York and California after high school, they have remained best friends through a shared sense of humor and the misery that is being a Minnesota sports fan.
