We were both in a place in life where we were single and loving it, and why not? God has done some amazing things in our lives as we've followed His lead and the places we've traveled and things we've experienced, from Southern Baptist Disaster Relief and being a traveling caretaker, to the Corps of Cadets and Mexico... it's been beyond good! So when we met on May 30th of 2017, at a summer program put on by The Navigators campus ministry, we weren't necessarily looking for a life adventure buddy, singleness was good, but as we got to know one another better it became very evident, very quickly, that life together... well that would be good too! Peter knew first, (it's Katelynn's personal belief that God did that on purpose because He knew how stubborn she was!) and it was the 14th of June when Peter first wrote in his journal that he loved Katelynn. It was fast but he didn't mind much, he was confident in where the Lord had led! It was a slower process for Katelynn, she fell in love with Peter initially not because she had warm fuzzies when he was around, but it started because he loved her first! Peter protected their boundaries, her heart and their friendship with a fervor and steadfastness that has consistently drawn her heart ever closer to his own. Peter had (and has) an ardent passion for his Lord Jesus Christ and put Him first, even before Katelynn and by so doing has learned the secret to loving his Beloved well!
