We met at a Post Office one Saturday morning. I was preparing my package to mail out and when I lifted my eyes there he was checking me out. I smiled. When he approached me he asked me are you married? I said no, he then asked can I take you out for coffee, I said I don't drink coffee, he asked for my number, I couldn't lie cause my phone was laying on the counter, he dialed it and I said that's me. He asked me out for brunch and I said to him I just met you and besides I'm busy. Not giving up he asked if he could call me later that day and I told him 5 pm. Not thinking much about it, my phone rang at 4:59 pm and the rest is history.
Sunday morning on Mother's Day, I got up and went out to the store. As I returned, Demetrius called me to the living room and there were my mom, son, and daughter. I thought he was celebrating Mother's Day as he made a heartfelt speech about how wonderful of a person and mother I am. At that moment he went down on his knees and asked me "Would you marry me?" Tears of joy ran down my cheek and I turned and looked at my mom and kids and then looked him in his eyes and said "YES" and we were engaged. We are so excited to write this next chapter in our lives. Can't wait to see you and celebrate with you in Atlanta!
