Things To Do

Lighthouse Beach

Lighthouse Beach

Edgartown, MA 02539

Beautiful beach connected to Edgartown Harbor with paths directly to the lighthouse!

Downtown Edgartown

Downtown Edgartown

Edgartown, MA 02539

Enjoy some of our favorite restaraunts including 19 Raw Oyster Bar, The Covington, The Wharf Pub, and The Seafood Shanty! Some awesome stores to shop at include The Black Dog, Backwater Trading Co, Salte, and Nell. Appreciate the view of Edgartown Harbor from the Edgartown Memorial Wharf and maybe even have a cocktail on the porch of Harbor View Hotel! Also be sure to check out the famous Jaws locations (did you know majority of the original movie was filmed on the island)?

Morning Glory Farm

Morning Glory Farm

120 Meshacket Road, Edgartown, MA 02539

An MV staple! This quaint yet abundant farm is located in the countryside of Edgartown and is definitely worth a visit for a snack. Pam’s Pesto is Bri’s personal favorite (can literally just dip tortilla chips in it and eat it straight)!

Katama Beach/ South Beach

Katama Beach/ South Beach

555 Katama Road, Edgartown, MA 02539

Arguably one of the most beautiful beaches on the island and very close to Edgartown! Take a stroll and watch the waves come in the from South Atlantic and crash against the shoreline (and maybe even see a few seals).

Jaws Bridge

Jaws Bridge

267-125 Seaview Avenue, Edgartown, MA 02539

Likely the busiest spot during a summer day on Beach Road. Dubbed the “Jaws Bridge”, this bridge is a popular attraction for locals and tourists to jump off of into the salty water between State Beach and Sengekotacket Pond. It’s famously known for the iconic scene filmed in Jaws when the shark attacks a group of teenagers in the shallow pond following a prank where they put a shark fin in the water. Chief Brody runs to the bridge, looking fearfully into the water as the shark closes in on the children, symbolizing the threat moving from the ocean into the town's waters. Definitely worth a visit!

Downtown Oak Bluffs

Downtown Oak Bluffs

Oak Bluffs, MA

OB is your kinda vibe if you’re more lively and like to party! There are great shops downtown including The Sanctuary, The Lazy Frog (one of Steve’s old jobs), Slip 77, and Island Outfitters. Our favorite restaraunt in OB is The Lookout which offers a beautiful view of the Vineyard Sound and the OB ferry (we highly recommend the friend cajun oysters as an appetizer)! If you’re looking for a staple cocktail, we love stopping by Donovan’s for a frozen dirty banana… thank us later!

Martha's Vineyard Camp Meeting Association Cottage Museum

Martha's Vineyard Camp Meeting Association Cottage Museum

1 Trinity Park, Oak Bluffs, MA 02568

The classicly known “gingerbread houses” on Martha’s Vineyard. We promise you’ve never seen anything like it before. Definitely worth a walking trip through the neighborhoods. We’ll leave it at that!

The Flying Horses Carousel

The Flying Horses Carousel

15 Lake Ave, Oak Bluffs, MA 02557

A quintessential MV experience. Visit the nation's oldest standing carousel in the heart of downtown Oak Bluffs. This platform carousel was built in 1876 and transported to the island in 1884 and guest have been "flying" ever since. Make sure to practice you're coin grabbing skills before riding -- you'll need them!

Vineyard Haven

Vineyard Haven

Tisbury, MA 02568

Visit the original Black Dog Tavern opened by Captain Robert Douglas on New Years Eve in 1971. Here you can enjoy delicious food (their chowder is ICONIC with toasted croutons on top served in their classic "Black Dog" mug-- yum!) and soak in a perfect view of VH harbor. We also love Waterside Cafe for lunch or a quick bite to eat. Vineyard Haven is more of a year-round town filled with local artisans and quaint, narrow roads. It also happens to be the quietest of the three major towns on the island and was actually a dry town until 2009.

West Tisbury Farmer's Market

35 Panhandle Road, West Tisbury, MA 02568

Probably one of Bri's all time favorite past times on the Vineyard. Every week from June-Oct from 9-12pm on Saturdays and Wednesdays there is a festival of fresh fruits, vegetables, flowers, and food trucks. It's a great place to try local foods and have an authentic MV experience. A second plug for this-- but if you get there early enough, you can usually get to meet Pam AND buy her pesto!!

Menemsha

Menemsha

Chilmark, MA 02535

An old, charming fishing village located "up-island" which is home to the best fresh lobster rolls (you can smell them coming off the boats). Menemsha is a special place because of it's history and timelessness -- a place that feels grounded with multi-generational fishing families. There is also a beautiful beach you can walk along out to a long jetty (which is great for fishing). You'll also recognize some Jaws scenes here!

Menemsha Hills

Menemsha Hills

Trustees Lane, Chilmark, MA 02535

If you love nature and want to explore some true MV roots, Menemsha Hills has beautiful trails that lead to the tall bluffs overlooking the Vineyard Sound. Fun fact: this is where Stephen officially asked Bri to be his girlfriend under a beautiful tree with a bench on July 7th, 2018. If you hike here and find the tree, we must hear about it!

Aquinnah Cliffs Overlook

Aquinnah Cliffs Overlook

31 Aquinnah Circle, Aquinnah, MA 02535

Bri's favorite place on island. These majestic cliffs located on the westernmost point of MV offer so much natural beauty and cultural significance. I swear you could stand at this overlook for hours. The solitude it provides and the appreciation for our ancestors is profound here. Words won't do it justice -- so just visit it yourself and see!

Gay Head Lighthouse

Gay Head Lighthouse

Aquinnah Circle, Aquinnah, MA 02535

The only lighthouse with a history of Native American lighthouse keepers -- the Wampanoag tribe! Situated amongst the highest bluffs of the island, this maritime beauty also offers tremendous views of the vineyard sound (and maybe even the Elizabeth Islands on a clear day)!
