Question

How long should I anticipate waiting for the ferry?

Answer

Good question! But a very tricky one to answer. Those of us from Houston know that ferry wait times can be very fickle. There are times where I (Perry) have waited 15 mins before accessing the ferry and there have been times where I have waited 2 hrs. During October, the beach tourist season is past it’s busy season and the wait times should not be very long. If you’re staying on Galveston Island or coming from that direction, I recommend arriving at the Ferry Port no later than 1:45pm to ensure arrival at the wedding venue no later than 3pm. Also, don't forget to get out of your car for the ferry over, because it is very likely that you will see dolphins.
