To Our Loved Ones & Friends

It finally happened! Many of you called it early on...after 12 years of friendship, we finally started dating. And after 15 years of friendship, we are finally getting married!

Thank you to our loved ones and friends for supporting us through the years. You have played a crucial part in our lives and our love story. We cannot wait to celebrate our special day with you all by our sides. It is sure to be a day to remember! For our out of town guests, there is plenty to do while you're in our favorite city. We hope you'll check out some of our favorites while you're here! To learn more about our wedding party and see more of our journey, check out the Photo Gallery and our Wedding Party tabs. Most importantly, we want you to have an amazing time. We hope you'll join us out on the dance floor on September 30th! We can't wait to see you then!

2008

For those of you who don’t know, our story begins 15 years ago. Perry was a bright-eyed freshman Ursuline Bear and Bobby was a foolish freshman Jesuit Ranger. As we both went to single-sex schools, we met in the only way possible, through mutual friends. If we remember correctly, our friend Gracie was the link in that she knew Perry from Camp Mystic and knew Bobby from Decats. While we can't remember the exact moment, it probably happened at a football game or potentially one of those painful freshman mixers.

2010

After the first meeting, Perry and Bobby continued to become closer friends. Perry, being significantly older (i.e. one year and six days) than Bobby, was one of the first drivers in our friend group. While our stories differ regarding this exact moment, there was a time sophomore year where it was just Perry and Bobby in the car driving between two friends' houses and she claims he was creepily staring at her the entire time, while he insists he was simply blown away by her beauty :)

2011

Throughout the rest of high school, we continued hanging out in the same friend group. We went to countless concerts (which is surprising given we've only gone to one since we started dating), we were prom dates (in which Bobby did the cutest Prom-posal this world has ever seen), and enjoyed our years spending weekends at the Sonic across from Jesuit. Toward the end of high school, Perry knew that she liked this guy; but Bobby was a bit slower. He was mainly concerned with surviving the tundra that is South Bend Indiana and so our path diverged for college.

2012

While Bobby was learning how to be a proper Midwesterner at Notre Dame, Perry found herself at TCU. Despite being over 1,000 miles away, Perry and Bobby remained close. Over the summer, we would continue to hang out and catch up on the happenings of the year. We both made great friends in college and neither of us would have traded our college experience for anything else, but it was evident that we both graduated college without being in a serious relationship.

2016

After college, Perry immediately came back to Dallas. She lived with her future matron of honor, Katie, and they brought a little sliver of TCU to Dallas. Bobby, due to being in accounting, came back a year later. Now being in the same city, the interactions slowly came back. TCU and ND had the same game-watch bar (RIP BBC). We all went to the Byron Nelson together and would start seeing each other on weekends.

2020

In October 2020 (after 12 years of build up!), Bobby and Perry finally started dating. It all started with our friend Chris and Maddie's wedding celebration and a heart to heart spurred by one too many mimosas at our friend Connor's "Martel Funk Factory". Ten days following Chris and Maddie's wedding, we went to Jaxon Beer Garden for our first date! While this may surprise you given the existence of this website, it wasn't that great of a first date! Some people would say that Bobby was quiet and awkward while other people would say he was perfectly pleasant; but we guess that is one of those debates that will never be answered.

2021

While starting dating in COVID is never easy, we found a way to make it work. From Jaxon Beer Garden, we quickly jumped into the stay at home, watch a movie, and cook together part of the relationship. Perry would focus on cooking most of the meal and Bobby would be there to cut the onions and any other vegetables needed. While definitely an unusual start to a relationship, it worked out perfectly for us and made our first Valentine's day even more special. On that day, we broke out of our typical cook at home funk and Bobby rented out a private movie theater where we were able to eat some movie theater hot dogs (its a Perry tradition) and watch Crazy Rich Asians. After those first few months, we were able to take our relationship out into the world and start going out more. While having met each other's family before, it was more special and different the first time we went to the Locke's Sunday Family dinner (Bobby was nervous at that first one) and the Valek's Sunday Family Lunch (Perry was equally nervous there). We slowly merged our lives together as we started hanging out with each other's families and friends on a regular basis. In July, we drove to Port Aransas with Bobby's friends Austin and Scobee to celebrate the 4th of July. Miraculously, Perry lived to tell the tale of her first trip with the boys and the four of them quickly became "Perry & the Crawdaddies". In August, we went on our first trip alone together to Fort Lauderdale, Florida for a long weekend beach escape. It has always been said that you can learn a lot about a person by traveling with them...needless to say what we learned about each other only solidified our relationship more.

2022

In November of 2022, after a wildly busy year, Bobby proposed to Perry in the backyard of his parent's house. The two went to church with Perry's mom that morning and then went to the Dallas Country Club for Brunch. Perry's dad was out of town for a boy's trip, so she was convinced it wasn't going to happen that weekend. After brunch, Perry and Bobby drove to Bobby's parent's house to spend time with the family (a typical Sunday event of ours, so Perry thought nothing of it). Upon arrival, Perry's suspicions were raised when Leo and Finn (the Valek pups) failed to greet her at the door. Bobby then proceeded to lead Perry out to the backyard where he had lights, candles, flowers, and pictures arranged. As Perry & Bobby's favorite song proceeded to play in the background, Bobby got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. Surprise... SHE SAID YES!!!! The rest is history and on September 30th, 2023, the two will live happily ever after.
