The sailboat capital of the Carolina’s is a quaint little harbor village near the coast of North Carolina. About a 2hr drive from Raleigh, closest large town is New Bern.
The Humphrey’s have been spending time in oriental for decades & have a house there on Broad Creek. When Perry began dating Charles & their love & love of fishing grew, the river house quickly grew close to her heart as one of her favorite places in the world. Our community of friends & fishing family here is strong
Friday night is a casual open air, backyard, welcome hang at the red rooster before we get it all dressed up for Saturday. Light bites & beverages will be served & ground is gravel mulched barn/grass field. Same for reception Saturday evening, everything & everyone will just be dressed up. Boots or flats recommend for easy outdoor walking & dancing. Ceremony Saturday afternoon is in a very quaint small church. Don’t feel obligated to overdress to enter the chapel but suits & gowns welcome with leisure time to change if desired before evening dinner reception at the Red Rooster. Images of both locations in our gallery.
Our dearly beloved friend & mentor, Captain Keith Bruno of Endurance Seafood is honoring us with officiating the marriage. We will be surrounded by a small eclectic mix of close family, dear friends, & our community in Oriental, made up of mostly fellow fishermen. It is a very special place to us and very far away with little accommodations. We understand those who are unable to attend.
