The Schooner Ardelle is one of the (many) boats that Perry's dad built during Perry's youth! This one holds a special place as it shares a (middle) name with Perry (and is named after her great grandmother Ardelle). To get the full rundown on the Ardelle & its "sister" vessels please visit the below link. We are so excited to share the boats with you all! https://maritimeheritagecharters.com/
Maritime Gloucester is a working waterfront, maritime museum, sea pocket aquarium all rolled into one exciting destination. They have partnered with Perry's dad (captain Harold) and his longterm girlfriend (Mary Kay) for 10+ years to work with local schools, camps & families to engage more than 15,000 students in hands-on maritime heritage and marine science education under sail. To read more about their mission check out https://www.maritimegloucester.org
During the sail, we will stay mainly within the boundaries of the harbor which is well protected from rough seas. The captain and crew are also responsive to guests and are able to navigate to calmer waters at any time. It is very rare that passengers aboard the Ardelle suffer from seasickness. If you would rather hang back on the dock, we totally understand, and we will catch you there!
There are metered lots located at each end of Harbor Loop and metered spaces along Rogers St. and Harbor Loop. Parking at Maritime Gloucester is limited.
Yes! We love your children and of course they are welcome to celebrate with us. The Schooner Ardelle takes out groups of young students often, so they are used to and happy to accommodate groups with little ones.
Casual Attire: Anything goes, from sundresses and sandals to jeans and tees. We suggest you bring layers as it can get chilly on the water! Dress shoes or high heels are not ideal for boating so plan accordingly! If it helps, Perry will be wearing a dress and Sam will be in slacks and a button down!
