This is the famous UNESCO world heritage site. We recommend going extremely early in the morning before it gets hot and crowded or waiting until the evening when it cools off a bit. Thanks to Game of Thrones, this place can be a tourist trap and the stone walls can make it unbearably hot with the crowds. There are plenty of restaurants and this is where the bar scene is for those of you wanting to grab some drinks, but the food tends to be overpriced so we recommend eating outside of Old Town.
The Dubrovnik Cable Car is a lovely way to ascend the hill while enjoying the birds-eye views of Dubrovnik Old Town and the Adriatic, but you can also drive. There is a panorama restaurant (reservation suggested but not required) on top of the hill. In the opposite direction from the restaurant there are the remains of the Napoleonic Fort Imperial which also houses the Homeland War Museum which is worth a visit. You can see many artifacts from the 1991 siege of Dubrovnik in the war.
A gorgeous old, established arboretum with an old family summer home in the middle. Beautiful sea views, and well maintained renaissance and Baroque gardens with plants from all over the world. It is a small drive away and spending 1-2 hours there is plenty. It is one of the film sites for Game of Thrones.
Our favorite and the only nightclub right in Dubrovnik. Plan on getting there early or buying a table because the lines can be horrible later in the night. It is open to 6am and is known to have some really good DJs.
The owner of the restaurant is a friend of ours and the food is absolutely incredible. I would recommend the salmon but it is all delicious. The decor is also beautiful and worth going to see. It is located at the bottom of a hotel that is being renovated, so you might accidentally drive past it if you see a little construction because there is nothing else around it!
