Natalie’s story begins in April, 2015. New to the acapella community at UVA, she really put herself out there and attended Foxfield Races with Hoos in Treble and the Virginia Gentlemen. This was a kind of terrible idea, given the rain, mud, and cold. Nat hopped in the on-site car and was in the process of defrosting when the car door opened and, lo and behold, Sam Roller offered to drive her back to dorms. She said “heck yes,” and they chatted about John Mayer all the way home. Natalie made a mental note of this very positive experience! Fast forward to Spring 2018: After having minimal contact with Sam for the first 3.5 years of college, Natalie was surprised to find that Sam was suddenly EVERYWHERE. She didn’t mind, especially when she remembered that Sam was a really nice guy. Little did she know, though, that Alex Rigby was telling Sam the same thing about her (thanks, Alex!). Natalie made her initial approach via Snapchat (obviously), and finally got up the courage to ask Sam out via text message (nice!). Neither were sure if this was really *A Date*, but when Sam pulled up in his gold Subaru Forester and saw Natalie in a leather jacket, he got the memo: an afternoon at Three Notch’d Brewery on March 31, 2018 would, in fact, be their first date.

In June, 2022, Sam and Nat made the journey to Switzerland to begin Part 1 of Natalie's Origin Tour. The first stop was Interlaken, and they had tickets to paraglide off a mountain! At the peak, Natalie was strapped to a very handsome Swiss man who inquired about her relationship status, to which she responded that she was expecting a proposal pretty soon. All the while, Sam was flying hundreds of feet above, sharing with his guide that he would be proposing once they were back on the ground (yes - the ring was WITH HIM IN FLIGHT). Sam beat Nat and her handsome guide to the ground (how could she turn down the offer of a lengthy flight with lots of flips?!), and armed his guide with the camera. Once on the ground, and still blinded by adrenaline, Natalie was led out to the field "for a picture." Suddenly, Sam was on one knee, asking if Natalie might want to marry him, too. The answer was, of course, yes.
