Boy Meets Girl, Boy Falls In Love With Girl...

(The REAL story of how we met!) 6/10/17

One cold winter day, Molly and Brian both found themselves passing the time the way many young single folks do - swiping on Tinder. He thought she had a nice smile, she thought he looked like a nice guy. It was a match! After a few weeks of chatting, Brian finally decided to ask Molly to meet, they decided on Lansing Brewing Company. After a few drinks and 2 hours of Molly nonstop talking like we know she does, the two decided to set a second date. He thought she was easy to get along with, she could tell he was kind. Their second date took them to an EL favorite - Dublin (where the two would later drunkenly exchange their first “I love you’s”.) They ate, they drank, they laughed, Brian was socially awkward, Molly rambled on, they enjoyed each other’s company. After this, Molly decided Brian probably wasn’t a serial killer and agreed to a movie night and dinner at his place. Brian grilled burgers and the two of them watched Seth Rogan movies. Molly confided in Brian that she wasn’t sure if she was in an emotionally stable place to start dating but that she really liked him and wanted to keep being friends. Brian was supportive and respectful of this and a friendship was born. After a few months of hanging out, going to movies, having bon fires, and snuggling Zola, Brian decided he needed a dog and asked Molly to help him pick one out. After some research, the two went to Cascades to meet some pups! After seeing Brian being so caring and paternal with all the animals, Molly’s heart melted and she decided she needed to claim him as her own. Brian picked out Arya and planned to bring her home the next day. When the two arrived back at Brian’s House, Molly told him her feelings for him had grown and asked him if he wanted to make it official and be her boyfriend. Brian’s response was to walk across the room, plant a big kiss on her, flash her his million dollar smile and say “you know I’ve wanted to!” And the rest is history!

Boy Gets Married!

How he popped the question: 10/26/18

After a year of dating, Molly and Brian knew this was the real deal. Brian started his search for the perfect ring and was even having Molly look with him, because after all, “you’re the one who’s gonna have to wear it the rest of their life so you should at least like it!” Molly wanted there to be some element of surprise so they whittled it down to 2 or 3 choices and she let Brian do the rest! Fast forward a few months, the two decided to throw a Halloween party at their house for all their friends! Molly wanted to be something silly like a Double Stuffed Oreo, but Brian knew this would be the night he’d ask her to marry him and he couldn’t get engaged dressed up as a cookie!(#ArentYouGladYouWerentADoubleStuffedOreo). They decided to be Ellie and Carl from Disney-Pixar’s movie, Up. With Molly being none-the-wiser about Brian’s master plan, the guests arrived, the punch was poured, the monster mash was jamming, and the party was in full swing. Brian decided it was time to put his plan into motion and asked everyone to go outside so they could properly thank everyone for coming. When they got outside and Brian started doing all the talking, Molly knew something was up (she’s the social butterfly in the relationship after all!) After a few moments Brian announced there was one more reason he asked everyone to be there that evening - he turned to face Molly, pulled a little red box out of his pocket, dropped to one knee, and said “Molly....” Of course Molly’s response was “oh shit!” followed by excited laughter and tears. Brian recited a speech he’d written for Molly that told her about all the reasons he loved her and knew they were meant to be. He finished the speech with “I want to spend the rest of my life with you, and continue going on adventures together just like Carl and Ellie. Will you marry me?” Of course she said yes! They hugged, she cried, he placed the ring on her finger, she cried some more, and they celebrated!
