When I was trying to get hired at Topgolf (they held big hiring events with games and short interviews to welcome new team members), that is when I first saw Brandy. She was only there briefly, but I immediately thought, “This woman is beautiful.” During my first few weeks, while Brandy was still in training, I kept wondering when I’d see that cute manager again. Eventually, I was promoted to Team Lead and as fate would have it, I ended up leading Brandy’s team. It gave me the chance to see her at her best and during the tough moments too, and I grew to admire her even more. Around Thanksgiving and Christmas, I finally got the courage to send her a few flirty texts. I’d been nervous, but I knew I wanted to get to know her outside of work. Things started to click, and just before I left for a training stint in Nashville, I asked her out. Our first date was casual, we played golf, had a few drinks, and just laughed together. It couldn’t have gone better. From that day on, everything fell into place. In just a few months, we grew incredibly close, and I fell in love faster than I ever expected. Very early on, I knew she was the woman I wanted to marry.
I saw a lot of people come and go from Topgolf. However, I did see a lot of my favorite people fall in love there. It seems to have a way to bring people together, which I will forever be grateful for. I never expected that the Barback turned Team Lead turned Hospitality Manager would be my future husband. In fact, on our first date (the extended version of it because we didn’t want it to end) we learned that there was an invisible string tying us together. It wasn’t our job, it was one of Kyle’s past jobs. He knew two of my uncles. I still think it’s wild that he knew pieces of my life before we even met. To be honest, when Kyle asked me out, I really wasn’t entertaining it at first. He worked for me, after all. He was younger than me, after all. He saw me at my worst and best, after all. Boy, am I so glad that I said yes to that first date. From that moment on, Kyle has never stopped pursuing me, loving me, and frankly, dealing with me. I am so thankful for the invisible string that tied you to me and for The Lord who continues to provide the desires of my heart. I can’t wait to marry you, Mr. Perkins.
