Jacob and I met living at the Onyx House (a college Christian co-op) in Eugene, Oregon where we both attended the University of Oregon (scoooo ducks!). I (Alli) had already been living in the house for a year when Jacob came in as a freshman. Unfortunately, we cannot say it was love at first sight, or really even friendship at first sight (; For real though, we were not the couple that hit it off right away. But sure enough, after a couple of months, we ended up in the same friend group and became closer and closer. We shared a lot of fun memories and were able to see just how well we did actually connect and just fit together so perfectly. After about 2 years of knowing each other, we began dating and the rest is history!

Alli was home for Christmas after starting her job as a nanny in southern California, and I (Jacob) thought this would be a perfect time to pop the question. So with the help of our friends Grant and Mai Anh, we made a plan to get Alli under the St. John's Bridge where I would surprise her. After a morning coffee date with Mai Anh, both her and Alli made their way towards the park under the St. John's Bridge where she was convinced she needed to help Mai Anh take some photos. Once they arrived at the park, I think she knew something was up, and upon walking down the stairs to the park, she saw me at the bottom waiting for her. I greeted her, got down on one knee and well...you know the rest!
