US citizens with valid passports can visit France without a visa for up to 90 days within any 180-day period if they are traveling for tourism, business, or other short-term reasons. However, be sure your passport is valid and does not expire within 3 months from your return date. You need an embassy visa for France if you have a Philippine passport.
This depends on if you plan on coming just for the event or if you plan to extend your stay (either before or after the wedding) while you are in France. We plan to have multiple events that guests can attend during the weekend. Please refer to our schedule's page. Thank you to those who are only coming for the wedding. Your attendance is much appreciated. Events do not begin until Saturday July 25 at 4PM and can plan to arrive in Bordeaux or Clerac Friday night, July 24. For those coming from the US, be mindful of the time change. Therefore, if you are flying from Wisconsin, you will want to take a Thursday (7/23) afternoon or evening flight to allow you to arrive Friday (7/24) evening in Bordeaux or Clerac. For the return flight, if you plan to attend the brunch and are flying out of Bordeaux, we recommend booking a flight late Sunday evening (after 8PM). Otherwise, you can choose to stay an additional night in Bordeaux or Clerac prior to making your way to your next destination.
We recommend purchasing tickets approximately 6 months in advance. From our travel experience, prices fluctuate and can sometimes be more expensive if purchased more than 6 months in advance and within 3 months of the preferred flight date. We have also seen prices fluctuate depending on the day and time of the week you purchase your flights. Travel websites do have settings where you can get notified when prices decrease.
Similar to flights, prices and options can fluctuate based on the time of the year. We recommend booking your accommodation as soon as you book your flights to ensure the best options.
This depends on your preference. Chateau Fengari is approximately a 40-minute drive from Bordeaux city center. If you don't mind driving back to Bordeaux following the reception, this may be a better option if you want to explore the city before or after the wedding events. Keep in mind, we will also have a brunch for our guests, but do not feel obligated to attend. Please RSVP if you plan on attending.
When you RSVP, please indicate whether you would like transportation to and from your accommodation. This will allows to plan accordingly and ensure all guests can easily commute to the wedding venue.
If you plan on exploring Bordeaux and or the French countryside or do not want to rely on the venue or public transportation, we recommend renting a car. Rental cars are easier to reserve and prices typically do not fluctuate compared to flights and accommodation. We recommend reserving as soon as you reserve your accommodation if you want the best options.
Yes, the chateau has parking. Please park your car only in the designated parking area. Cars are not allowed on the grass or in the driveway.
As much as we love kids and your children, we thought you would like the night off. The venue has very limited space. Adults only please (21 and older). For any questions, feel free to contact us.
The venue has very limited space. Only those listed on our invites can attend. Please reach out for any additional questions.
Please refer to the schedule page for more details regarding each of the events.
July is one of the warmest times of the year in France, averaging daily highs of 80 and lows of 60. We recommend loose-fitting and airy clothing. We also plan to have small handheld fans for our guests to use throughout the night.
The ceremony and cocktail will be held outside in the garden while the dinner will be served outside under the marquee. Marquee has wood floors installed so OK to wear heels if you prefer. Following the dinner, the dancing and music will take place inside in the reception room in the north side of the Chateau.
Food will be served buffet and food station style. This will allow guests to explore and try the different cuisines. We will have local French and asian-inspired selections.
