Our Story

101 Dalmations-moment

We first met on an online dating app. Jordan had a picture of his family dog, Hodgy (RIP) on his profile. Amanda was immediately interested as she has a husky, Elsa, as well. She messaged him asking if he takes his dogs to the dog park and which one. It turned out that they both took their huskies to the same dog park, Capitol Springs. However, Jordan played hard to get and made it difficult to schedule time to meet. Eventually, he gave in and decided to meet one weekend morning. For Elsa and Hodgy, it was love at first sniff - not so much for Jordan and Amanda. After their meeting at the dog park, they didn't meet again until 3 weeks later. Amanda was the one to break the silence and she reached out asking Jordan if he wanted to join her for her MBA's virtual trivia night. Jordan impressed Amanda with his trivia knowledge that she agreed to go on another date a week later. They went to the bowling alley and to Jordan's surprise, she was very good and actually beat him as Jordan is known to be a very competitive human being. From then, he knew there was a connection and wanted to continue hanging out. December came, so Jordan suggested going to a tree farm, cutting down our own Christmas Tree and baking cookies and watching the Grinch while we decorated the tree as it's been a long-standing tradition for his family. However, he made an exception and suggested the two of us (plus Elsa) should go. This became one of the most memorable nights as this was when they decided to officially become a couple. Fast forward, we now live in a house in Monona with two huskies - Elsa and Kratos - that are a big part of our lives. Weekends consist of golfing, boating, going on walks with our huskies, or binge watching new TV shows.

Why France

When Jordan and Amanda began dating, there were not a lot of options for date nights due to the COVID restrictions (late 2020). Wine and binge watching tv shows became a staple. They continued this tradition when they moved to California together. Being so close to the wine country (Napa and Sonoma), Jordan and Amanda would make regular weekend trips to different wineries, trying all the different types of wine. Visiting France always came up whenever we would plan our next trip as Jordan thinks he is fluent in French. He took French all 4 years in high school and still understand and speak some words. As we explored venue options for our wedding, we thought, why not combine our France vacation and our wedding and make it one great big experience. We are truly excited to share this moment with our guests and hope you all can attend.
