The Seattle area has a new airport in Everett. It is about 45 minutes outside of the city, but if you are coming from the west coast, there are some cheap flights into Everett. If you are coming from anywhere else - SeaTac is your best bet!
We have reserved a block of room at the Charter Hotel (Hilton) in downtown Seattle under the names Bauer/Pentzien/Waldref. Also, feel free to look for other hotels, Airbnbs, campsites, and boats that you may want to spend the weekend on.
If you want to experience the Olympic Peninsula and visit the Hoh Rainforest - try looking into getting a reservation at the Kalaloch Lodge - that way you do not have to worry about getting camping gear if you are from out of town. If you want to head east over the Cascades, it is worth looking into the town of Leavenworth! It has great character, some white water rafting, and fun hiking. Meredith has stayed at the Sleeping Lady Hotel and would recommend! If you want to head South, try checking out Mt. St. Helens and continuing on to Portland, OR! You can take the train, the Bolt Bus, or head down by car! Also stay local! Or, Check out the San Juan Islands!
We just sent them out last week (July 2). Please RSVP by August 1.
King and Kitsap counties, the counties of Seattle and Bainbridge Island are both in what we call Phase 2 of a reentry plan. Under phase two, restaurants are open at half capacity, you are only supposed to see 5 people per week outside of your household, and masks and social distancing are all required at all times. People almost always wear masks in these counties. Indoor weddings are allowed with a max of 30 people which is a reason we are holding an outdoor ceremony. Receptions are currently banned in the state.
