Wedding Plans Update

Family and Friends, We wanted nothing more than to bring all of you together for an epic wedding celebration in September—and for a while it seemed like nothing could stop us from doing that. Then COVID came along. While we were looking forward to celebrating with you all, we don’t want to jeopardize anyone’s health. So we’ve made the tough decision to cancel our upcoming wedding celebration. We still plan to get married this year, but it will be a simple, private ceremony with our immediate families. 2020 has been a challenging year for everyone, and we are no exception. Pete tore his achilles in January while playing baseball. COVID isolated us from all our loved ones in March (and beyond). Annie lost her job in May. Now, we’ve had to cancel this celebration. Through all these challenges, our mutual love and support has given us the strength to meet every day with optimism. They say there are no guarantees in life. But we know that we’ll be there for each other in even the most difficult of times. Perhaps that’s just the reminder we needed before making this commitment. Though there are many unknowns, we know that countless good times lie ahead too. Once the global health crisis is resolved, we intend to bring you all together for a celebration you won’t soon forget! We’ll share more details once there’s more certainty. Until then, thank you for your love, patience, and understanding.

How we met

In the snowless February 2013, Annie's friend invited her to come up to their ski-lease cabin in Lake Tahoe. Pete was one of 20 people on the lease. "We ski hard. We have a shot ski. Do you still want to come?" Yes. Yes, Annie did. All it took was one look at Pete to fall in love amidst ski boots and shot skis... Just kidding! Pete and Annie barely spoke that first weekend. A few weeks after the big weekend bonanza, Annie returned to the cabin with a smaller group. When she arrived, the house was empty save for Pete—asleep on the couch with a Seinfeld marathon on the TV. He looked pretty cute. So, with plenty of places to sit (including the entire couch), Annie sat herself right down next to him. The next day, they hit the slopes--Pete on skis and Annie on a snowboard. Pete believed a boarder would slow the group down. To Pete's dismay, Annie not only kept up with the skiers—she was one of the first ones down the mountain. After a day of this, Pete knew Annie was something special. Pete was smitten by Annie's beauty and her skills on the slopes. With a fun-filled weekend in Tahoe in the books, he wanted to keep a good thing going back in San Francisco. So he left her a ring made of moss and his number. And the rest was history.

For all the days along the way
