We met in Walnut Creek on a job interview. We spent the day together doing B2B sales and learning about each other. He asked me to rank the following in order of importance: financial stability, getting married and going to grad school. I said number one is getting married and the rest come after. I asked him the same question and he said 1) financial stability 2) going to grad school 3) he was never getting married. One short decade later, I think it's fair to say, we know who sold whom.
Mike asked me what kind of proposal I wanted. I told him it didn't have to be anything fancy but I reminded him how much time he had been given to think about it... Mike surprised me by renting out the rooftop of Lincoln Rooftop Social in Columbus, OH. He hired an incredible violinist who played our song when we walked in. Our friends were hiding, taking pictures and Facetiming in my parents. As soon as he proposed, all of our friends showed up and we enjoyed the rest of the night together celebrating the proposal that we all, I mean I, had been waiting for. He had been secretly planning the proposal for weeks and he absolutely nailed it.
